True, true. x3 (luckily, I have another upstairs that I don't plan to mutilate xD)
I don't have any hair for mine either.
AC Moore or Michael's probably has doll hair, though.

Yeah. I gotta get this light, dusty tan colour for her.

Dark/medium brown with a little bit of white should work. (black and white paints usually go a long way with just a drop or two)
And just really quick: try to get FolkArt Enamels, Americana, and Delta Creative paints -- they're smoother than some other brands. *coughcoughliquitexcough*

Man the peg in my Pinkie Pie is real stubborn. Do you have anymore tips?

Getting on, or off? A blade around the outside of the peg should cut it free and give no problems.

You need to keep the plug and have it handy. Just put the plug back in the head, apply superglue to the side of the plug- there should be a 'lip' where the head was already attached to the body when you cut it out, put the glue there-- and the press it firmly into the pony's neck.

just to double check. The super glue is the kind you need something sharp just to open it and not the glue gun, correct? for some reason I was thinking glue gun glue and I'm almost at the reattach part.

Shh, don't tell anyone, but she's my least favorite of the mane cast

If I had to have a least favorite I'd be her by just a bit. If Art of the Dress never was, then I'd be Rarity.

Pulling the head off is a lot easier if you put them in a pot of boiling water for a few moments to soften the plastic up. (don't worry, it will harden up again once it cools) That's how I do it with my ponies. Just be careful of ones with light pink hair. If you are planning on keeping the hair boiling that color hair has an unwanted effect of turning it white.

I have never had hair lose color from heat. Some bright colors can leech extra dye and turn the water colors or dye the body (happens mostly in G1 Surprise/ponies with bright chartreuse hair) -- at you refering to ones like G1 Posey? The light bubblegum pink hair is prone to fading at the drop of a hat, but I've never had problems with losing color from heat.
WARNING, with older G1 ponies you can warp the pony by boiling them too much. The inside creates a vacuum basically, and the head is pulled in on itself.
I have never had to boil a pony to get its head off, I usually just use muscle, and since I am the little girl... but yes this is a good tip.

It's not too bad. Think of it as a little nap until they're beautiful again. Just think of the end of TS2, That barbie loved that her owner loved her, such an 'artist'!
