THE SPACE PIRATES

Holograph Debut:
Sonic Holograph: Episode Shadow -STARDUST SONG-

These roaming robots have uncertain origins, but what's very certain about them is their obsession with pilfering shiny treasures across the cosmos. Cap'n Chromebeard is their leader and the prime figurehead of this creed, his mission to snatch up the brightest shining things he can so that he can prove that there is nothing in the universe shinier than his... Beard? Whoever did make these machines seemingly didn't quite nail the cognitive circuitry, because these guys can't actually self-repair all that well - explaining their shoddy frames and botched modifications. Still, while they may seem like small fry, their boldness and grit means they can't be ignored.

After the disaster on Planet Wisp, Shadow and his crew are regrouping on the Twin Rings station, morosely trying to come up with some kind of plan and raise the spirits of Iofi and Astel. Nene manages to salvage their moods somewhat, but their brief reprieve is thrown way off-course when these clunkers arrive to raid the station, waving around a particular treasure of theirs that shocks Moona to her very core... And hey, weren't these the guys that shipwrecked Suisei!?

Soldering, Rust

Trivia:
- The space pirates are not an adaptation of any particular thing from Sonic or Hololive, but they have several inspirations. The robotic pirates from Sonic Rush Adventure, Captain Metal Sonic and his crew from Sonic Universe, and even a real world concept: scalpers, who buy up merchandise or tickets then sell them off for unfair prices. Unfortunately, such practices trouble the VTuber community.

- Cap'n Chromebeard was able to nab the Nova Talisman from the Lunar Colony because its defenses only activate in response to bio-signatures, showing the age of said systems to not account for fully autonomous robots.
