This is just a beginning... The Dragonera project's logo - English version ( because all dragonera's pages will be set in two languages; in polish and in English). It wouldn't look like that without inspiration of - she has made a beautiful project of Dragonera's logo - bluerain7.deviantart.com/art/D… - which has reminded me an art nouveau graphics of Alphonse Mucha. So, I have decided to draw mine logo's project in this style. Thank you, Amber!
And here is a place for some explanation...
Why this project has been called "Dragonera"? You know, I'm geodesist by trade. Very important thing in geodesy in Prime Meridian - one of the historical prime meridians, The Paris Meridian, known also as Meridian Verde, improperly called the Rose Line, runs through some small rocky island in Balearic Island archipelago on Mediterranean See, near Spain's coast. When I was thinking about name for my project I have remembered name of this island and I thought that it would be excellent. This island's called Sa Dragonera. It is only 3,2 km length and 0,5 km width; it is inhabited, except endemic Lilford wall lizards and had been called a Dragonera because of it's look; the rocky mountain range, which runs through the island, vaguely resembles a lying dragon's spine.
The project has been called like that also because I would like to make something more than only an another "tribute" to Toothless and Night Furies - project Dragonera will be a compendium of dragonologic knowledge, a professional overview of informations about dragons, treat like real animals not only a mythical and fantastic creatures, in which I will "write in" all world of Night Furies, giving to it a realistic context. That's why in this logo you can see not only a Toothless, as a representative of Night Furies group, but also The Smaug, the most famous (and the richest) dragon in history, which is a symbol of all classic dragons. In small circles which surround pictures of Toothless and Smaug, you can read a word "DRAGON" in few different languages: Polish, English, Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Russian, Turkish, Hungarian... and many others, to show that Dragonera Project is for all people who love dragons on Deviant Art, and it is about all kind of dragons, not only about Night Furies.
Soon ( I've hope!), I will show you first page of Dragonera Project. Work still in progress. Be patient, please...

And that's why your art's awesome, not only in your detail and shading skills, but you apply logic and reality to something that could have existed (or still secretly exists), after all biologically dragons aren't that hard for mother nature to make back then...

You will be really surprised, when I show you in one of next Dragonera's pages, how many and how seriously people think that dragons are real animals. Dragons are too incredible creatures to treat them just this same like fairies or just a myths.

and that is true as well not in only Biological terms, but in history as the dragon appears in cultures all over the world back before these remote civilizations could ever make contact with each other, not to mention dragons seem a little too awesome to be just simple myths...

Anthropologists of the culture say that all people have this same brain structure, so all people in all cultures in the world have this same kind of dreams, fears and ideas. This same kind of braids in Peru and in India. This same images of gods in Australia and in Canada. This same constructions in Mexico and in Egypt. Maybe this is an explanation of dragons' phenomenon, but not for me. Because I believe in Dragons, I just believe...

Yes and I would be like that as well, but because I'm a left-brain thinker -_- Logic strangles the life of my brain, so once I finally saw some logic I finally fully believed as well. (that is without each side of my brain at each others Cerebral Cortexes about the subject...)

And that why I'm going to make project Dragonera - to make a real this, what was only a dream. I want to describe dragons - especially Night Furies - as real, living creatures. Even left-brain persons will be able to "believe" in dragons described like that.

Of coures, Amber! I agree. With pleasure. I was thinking about some soft and light colors, with blue and gold, like in Alphonse Mucha's graphics... You will know what to do: you have talent.
Thank you for nice comment.
