i don't usually vent art, but when I do I do it with everything I have. Truth is, I'm incredibly depressed as of recent. I honestly feel like my life is going nowhere, I'm being passed by, and that I'm not worth anything. but this serves a note to future Danny looking back at his work in the event he gets in this spot again:
Even though you don't have a degree yet from an amazing school, you are not untalented
Even though you don't have the resources to do 3D animation, you can still animate.
Even though your friends and people you know are getting job offers, interviews, and opportunities to shine, it does not mean you won't get your chance someday.
People still respect you even if you don't draw much fan art anymore.
People still appreciate you even if it seems like you've lost most of your support
You're not worthless.
now only if i could listen to my own words...
I'll be fine, eventually.

You know... many times in life we feel down at the bottom. We fall into a pit that we can't get out of, but only because we aren't looking up. Lord knows I've been in my own depths, as you appear to be now, as well. Many here have written long, heartfelt thoughts, and I'm likely going to be one of them, but I'll try to keep this brief.
So many people here comment on this, and not once have I seen a negative comment. You do have amazing talent. Having been a part of dA for 2 years, and possibly drawing longer, you are quite very impressive, and make me want to draw more so that I can even BEGIN to TRY to aspire to the level at which you have displayed here. I've drawn for 5 years now, and have made what I think is decent improvement, but this... Keep at it though. I would absolutely LOVE to see more from you. I don't really impress easy. But this image. this one image, you've captured something here that makes myself, as well as many others want to go on, and not quit. And I pray heavily that you will hear or read the words of everyone here, and keep at it also. Lastly...

I feel like tearing up, seeing how you feel like you're worth nothing. That's not true. Maybe that opportunity hasn't came knocking because it's something so wonderful and massive, it needs to wait for the right time. Your a really cool guy (with an awesome talent!) and you have tons of fans and friends who will support you and cheer you on!

On another note, Β just because you haven't got the opportunity yet, that doesn't make you untalented; you're insanely talented. You've been using PS for 2 years, look at where you are now. You can make incredible animations that loop PERFECTLY just like that. Your watchers are still loyal to you and still love your art no matter what you draw whether it be Sonic, anthro or even realism. You're not worthless or alone, Dan, you haveΒ 3,587 people who like what you do. So keep it up and someday you'll get yourΒ opportunity.

I feel ya. 19 and stuck, no assets, no direction and staring at an uphill battle without knowing whether I've got the energy or talent to make it. But this is really something man. You'll get your chance, that's for sure.

I just want to say...
When I first came across your page I was excited to see that there was a person who started on deviantart around the same time I did, but what really made me impressed was the amount of improvement that took place from the time you began, till your recent art submissions. I couldn't believe that it was possible to get so good at art in such a small amount of time. After that first time, you have provided me with constant inspiration and confidence in myself that no other artist has ever done. Your not only a very talented person, but your also a guy who has class and doesn't settle for anything but the best. You have taught me to look for the same qualities in myself.
Thank you for staying true to yourself and I hope your depression doesn't last too long. Stay strong man.

If you'd like to get into 3D work, Blender3D is free and pretty powerful once you've put some time into learning it.
There's lots of tools you can use on the side to produce normal maps, textures, hi res sculpts, so on and so forth.
As for the animation itself, it's pretty awesome. The rain, depth of field effects, lighting; they all really tie it together and it looks great. Keep up the awesome work, try to stay positive.
