wait so how do you make it so that you can upload it as a layered lineart????
π: 0 β©: 1
DarlingMionette In reply to Sheepspotato [2013-08-09 23:01:20 +0000 UTC]
upload it where? I don't think I understand your question. to save it as a layered lineart you can save it with the .sai extenstion (only openable by SAI), or as a .psd which can be opened in photoshop and several other programs.

on the pen tool: adjust the min size/density to 0. for the other lineart tools: you can adjust the line pressure/width with the "Pressure" edit tool. (you've gotta be on a vector line art layer to see these tools though)

but,if i created a line with the cureve tool, it has al pixeled little light dots, like in the tutorial. how can i smoother them?
with the pressure and then click right?

check your image resolution - you should be at 300 pixels/inch (default is 72) that may help.. also make sure you're not super zoomed in XD

You seem to be the right person to ask this...is there any way to make straight lines in SAI? I mean the way you can hold shift in Photoshop to draw a straight line, that doesn't seem to work in SAI. I've checked the help files but can't find any means of creating a restricted straight line.

DarlingMionette In reply to Dualmask [2012-12-30 17:32:42 +0000 UTC]
I haven't been able to find a quick short cut to it yet -_- unfortunately. Most of the time I try to line my really straight lines up with the edge of the paper and then move them over to where I actually need them. There may be a way to do it that's easier, but I haven't found it. unfortunately, sai doesn't really come with a user's manual

That's what I was afraid of. Seems I'll still be jumping back and forth to Photoshop for some things. Great tutorial by the way. I already faved it a long time ago but I just started using the line work tools last night and they really are quite amazing.
