Description
I drew this to go on my new portfolio site over at:[link]
The aim was to do something using red, yellow and blue to match the theme, and to make an image which gives a good overall feeling about my art style. Something bold and fun.
For some reason it came out as a very happy looking girl in vaguely emo clothing. She is a happy emo? A Happymo?
...I dunno. It's nothing too special, just a little thing. I produced that printed dotty effect by duplicating the colour layer and putting a halftone effect on there, then lowering the opacity of the toney colour layer. Te resulting effect gives the feel of an old printed comic. Because I didn't want to shade this, it needed some kind of texture to the colour to avoid looking too flat.

haha, me too. They sell some of this kind of thing on online emo shops like 'sohos' and 'darkside', but I wish a device existed where I could just draw clothes and it would make them hahahaha!

XD, also i dont think her clothes look emo, or is that just me. I cant help but imagine her being really active like , biking or using a scrambler bike in the woods or on a track. Maybe it's the hood pattern that's making me think of motor sport in general. She could present a mix of top gear and blue peter. XD

Hahaha, Well, the checky pattern I feel is the most emo part, oddly enough. Checks and stripes are very popular in that style. Her clothes are very much the kind of thing you see on emo clothing sites like Sohos.

Well, I was pretty surprised myself to discover that the clothes I like to wear could be grouped under the Emo style. I've never considered myself as 'Emo' at all!
