This took hours. Yeeeesh. It was actually pencilled on A3 because I did it as a sample for a portfolio to take to a Marvel portfolio viewing in about a month's time. I actually had to scan it in two halves and splice it together in Photoshop hahahaha! The inks were done in Manga studio, as is usual for my work, and the colours in Photoshop.Runaways is definitely my favourite Marvel comic. I Think Nico, K and Mol are my favourites in this image. Colouring Karolina was MEGA FUN.
I'm happy with the inks, but I still think that the colours need tweaking, they don't harmonise well. I also think the composition could have been better. This was my first time really working on a single image at this size in years, and I rarely ever draw this many characters in one picture. It was a big learning process for me.

wow really good , drawing on a3 takes ages but its a lot easier hope your viewing went/goes well, i want to try doing one myself one day but not sure marvel would be interested in my style
its a shame that they cancled runaways it was one of the few american comics i could stand

Ah thanks, actually personally I prefer drawing smaller, though I'm in the minority there! The viewing actually went amazingly; I was given the address for the Talent Manager and told to ask for a Runaways sampler script! 0_0
Runaways got me into American comics, and it's one of my favourites. It's a shame it seems to have stopped, but on the other hand, it was never quite the same after it stopped being BKV and Alphona, I think.

Ahh jeez....I am sooo feeling ya on stitching the original together in Photoshop....I can't afford a giant scanner :'/ so I work it with what I got! Kudos though! I dig this!

Haha, yeah, those big scanners are pricey, but not as bad as they used to be at least. Thankfully I rarely need to work at large sizes! Thank you!

I miss it too. It was interesting, taking the Marvel superhero concept back to its roots in a sense with teenagers living outside normal society with strange powers, so in a way, it was both very new and invetive and yet also harking back to the old days of Superhero comics. Apparently a movie is in the works, so that'll be interesting to see, they're casting at the moment, I hear.

Yeah, I was pleased when they said Nico would remain Asian! That Avatar the Last Airbender movie was shockingly racist casting all the Asian characters bar the villain as Caucasian actors!

Hahaha. I can't say I've ever seen that. Nico is a gothy but down-to-earth girl and sort of the leader. She can cast spells with her magic staff. She's really cool!
