Celes Chere from Final Fantasy VI (copyright Squaresoft). I wish she wore this outfit from her concept art in the actual game. Celes is an awesome character. Strong, graceful and with a streak of innocence despite her military upbringing and very practical personality.Runic is an ability which is mostly pretty useless, but it's a cool concept. She absorbs magic with her sword. She holds it up and it goes 'ting!' hehe! ^_^
I've been practising my digital painting some more! I'm making pretty good progress. You have to think and approach in a totally different way from line art. Man, I can't believe all those years of Warhammer paid off with knowledge of how to paint gems! Hahaha!

Nice work! Obviously there are some things that could be fixed - I think you could concentrate on anatomy a bit more, and pay attention to your light sources, at the moment both are inconsistant and holding it back. I can also see you're going for some dynamic movement from the hair and jacket but it isn't succeeding because the flames and other various accessories are completely stationary. You could also benefit from a unified colour scheme I think - other than that it's good! ^_^

We meet again, and this time the piece is even better - excellent, excellent work on the colouring! I particularly noticed the belt; both the engraving and the gems are particularly well done. The subtle blue lighting on Celes looks fab, too - it's subtle enough to be effective, but not too strong to be overpowering.
Ahh, Final Fantasy VI... fab game. Being a fighting games fan, i particularly liked Sabin; the dude can suplex a train!

FF6 has some wonderfully crazy stuff in it. Like shooting aura bolts which look like a kamehameha at killer fish while falling down a waterfall.

Ultros was AMAZING. He's a decently tough recurring boss who also happens to be hilariously funny. Very memorable character.
