If you don't read 'Runaways', then you totally should. It's a Marvel comic by Brian K. Vaughan, about a group of kids who run away from home when they find out that their parents are supervillains. It's funny, has great characters, and really cool artwork. Oh and you can read volume 1 chapter 1 and volume 2, chapter 7 online for free if you go to marvel.com and look at the 'digital strips' section. Can't get better than that!

Anyway. and I are planning a Runaways fancomic at the moment. Set in the one month gap between the first and second storyarcs of volume 2. I figured that my usual manga way of drawing would upset a lot of potential readers (you know them, the whiney types who don't like manga and think it's for hacks and all that jazz) so I decided to develop a style for the comic that tones down the manga-ness a bit, while still feeling comfortable and looking good to me. This is the result of one of the more productive style tests, and will probably be the style the comic, when done, will be drawn in.
It's pencilled, inked and CG'ed by me, fairly quickly. Took about an hour in total. The most surprising thing was that looking at the end result I thought 'wierd...my style looks like a bit like 'Young Avengers'!'
