Description Chrono Trigger is one of my all time favourite games. It's also a game which has aged remarkably well. It's still easy to get totally wrapped up in the adventure. The music, the gameplay, the story...they all feel just right.
Lucca is my favourite character. Not that many people are Lucca fans. I really like her though, firstly because she's a female character in an RPG who isn't particularly pretty. Think about that carefully, how many RPG heroines can you name who look dorky? Also, she carries a hammer AND a gun. If the enemy is far away, she shoots them, if they're close, they get hammered. That was just a little detail about her that I thought was cool. Finally, her theme tune is used as the main fanfare in Chrono Cross and she's an egotistical mad scientist! What's not to like?

This piece was done in the usual way I do stuff. Pencil, fineliner, scanned and CG coloured. Had to keep checking the original artwork to make sure I got all the details. Toriyama's designs are remarkably detailed!

I did this because I've been conscripted somebody's project....yes, again. I can't help it! I'm REALLY bad at turning people down -_-; This one is for a CT cardgame. If you like CT and want to help out, there are about 100 cards to do, and the more people doing them, the less cards each person will have to do. Even if you just do a couple it'd help. Send me a note if you want more details.

You did a great job! I love the colors, especially Lucca's hair. Lucca's one of my favorite characters of all time as well. It was funny, during Chrono Cross, I liked Luccia the second I saw her. She reminded me of Lucca, and so I kept her in my party alot just as I kept Lucca in my party the whole time in Chrono Triggger. She really is a great character, and I DO think she's pretty in her own way. Then again, I do tend to like the characters who wear glasses.

Thanks! I was a fan of Lucca the first time I saw her. She's just nothing like any other game heroine. Luccia is kind of cool as a 'dark Lucca' character, but I wish you got more direct interaction with the old characters in CC.

Yeah, though I like Marle and Ayla as well. XD Heck, I like all of the CC characters. And I think I considered trying to replace Lucca with Luccia by naming Luccia "Lucca", actually. That would been nice. When I found out Lucca was dead, I just sort've went: "O_O...EVIL VIDEO GAME MAKERS!". But, it was interesting to see the "memory" of her running around at the dead sea...during the strangest part of the entire game. But, I think she should have lived...They could've just changed the plot a bit... ._. Could've worked.

Actually, whether or not Lucca really died is left kind of ambiguous. In 'Radical Dreamers' (the telecast Chronotrigger sequel, you may or may not have downloaded and played it) Lucca is quite clearly dead, but in CC, you never find out explicitly. I like to think she came up with a clever plan and is still around somewhere, haha!

Hmm...Sadly, I never downloaded the "Radical Dreamers", but it sounds awesome. I've even heard that it has MAGUS (second favorite CT character) in it . Huh...Really? I always thought that she was taken away by Lynx, used for his own plan, and then killed...But, then again, my plot senses tell me that Lucca wouldn't just let that happen *smirks* . I'd bet that she'd use the task she was given by Lynx to escape alive, but went into hiding since she knew Lynx would probably try to eliminate her.

And, on another note...I just realized that, if you got the GOOD ending in CC, then...Lavos would never have come back in the first place. And, since Lavos was the one to turn Serge's father into Lynx (Okay, I am sorry, but that sounds WAY too much like Star Wars. O_O), and Lynx supposedly killed Lucca...Then, that would mean that not only would Lucca live (whether she really HAD died or not), but so would Kid's siblings (adopted, kind've, but still)...WHICH WOULD BE AWESOME. XD

...Deep stuff. O.O

: O Lucca fanart?!

Hehe, I personally think your version of Lucca looks about 200% better than the Akira Toriyama version. The pose and the look on her face are great. And of course, I love the signature Mongoose colors. I'm still wondering how the heck you managed to put green and orange together and made them actually look nice. That's not something you see a lot.

Thanks! I always consider Lucca to be a character who doesn't get the fanart love she deserves.
I think my 'colour secret', if it could be called that, is as simple as 'don't deal in absolutes'. Unless it's with Yellow, I avoid using colours that are 100% that colour. Adding a small amount of grey, brown or the next colour in the spectrum, but not going too dark and murky give vibrant colours that still have a natural feeling to them, which makes them pleasing to look at. With dark colours like grey, I like to add a bit of red, blue or green, or in tha case of the latest FDG cover, Juu's bodysuit has a little touch of purple.

Ahaa, you made a deviantart account. Good idea, you can use it to fave people's work, put the artists on your 'friends' list and send notes.

I think she's cool ^^ Didn't know that Toriyama did the designs for CT, then again I had a Megadrive. Really like Reiko Kodamas Phantasy Star I do believe that Alis was the first female main character in an RPG ^^, maybe wrong tho..

Thanks! Chronotrigger is a game I certainly recommend. You ca get a Playstation version of it, but I actually would say a snes emulator and a rom is the way to go, even though the PS version has anime cutscenes, it also reportedly has laggy menus.
In my opinion, it's a superior Squaresoft RPG to it's contemporaries, Final Fantasy 6 and Secret of Mana. The sequel, Chrono Cross, lacks the sparkle of CT, but is still an excellent game with, in my opinion, one of the best soundtracks ever composed.
