For Act 2, I went for a grey theme with strong colours and mid-tones. It's the act where you go on a lot of adventures and where Auria becomes proactive rather than just going along with things, so this image has her strong and vibrant.
This one was actually the last one of the 3 act images I did, was the hardest to decide on what to do for, and it's my favourite of the three.

Aaaah, DM, this is really, really good! I like the concept and the execution, and I love the arcing motion and how it's supported by everything else in the picture, because I get a really active feel from it.

Thanks, Aoi-chan! This is an interesing piece in that it's sort of similar to the first reboot FDG cover in basic concept: [link] But the FDG image is a very solid and static pose, while this one is in motion. It shows how subtle differences like the angle of the wrist and the curve of the spine can completely change the feel of two similar poses. I always think it's important to 'feel' the pose. The weight and momentum of the sword and the body etc. Bodies in motion are one of my favourite things to draw!
