Another entry!? Yes. I guess the alternative title for this piece would be 'Kate really, really wants a new tablet' hahahaha.I named it 'wildcard', since really I didn't plan to enter again. This was just another sketch done when drawing the pencils for my first entry. It came out pretty nicely, so I decided to use it to experiment with inking techniques. Kind of trying to get similar inking to the CLAMP manga 'Tsubasa Reservoir' here, and seeing just what I can do making custom pens in Manga Studio. I did try colouring this, but it looks stronger as line art, so I kept it very pared down in the end.
I wouldn't say this is better than my other entry, but it came out kind of nicely for an experiment, worthy of uploading, I think.

Yeah, the Prince was an experiment with finer lines, but I think chunky lines are more 'me', huh? Good enough for Jack Kirby and CLAMP, good enough for me!
I can't wait to try to do this inking style on a comic. I think this style would work better in a comic than it does for a stand alone image.

Speaking of stylish visuals, I really dig this image the way it is with the faint trace of background and the bit of color mixed in with the B&W.

Thanks, I needed something to balance the space up there, but just cutting the space would have looked wrong. I tried a lot of things, but in the end, the doodled landscape worked best. Glad you like it!

The tricky thing about doing fanart of a game that's barely come out is you can only base it on screenshots and promo vids. It's pretty much the reason most of the art in the competition runs along very similar themes -_-; I like to put more character into my work normally, but I don't actually know much about these character's personalities!
