Description It has been pointed out to me that the description, attached to [link] is incorrect, a matter that when illustrated becomes quite obvious, however as the photos were taken 10 years ago and taken them, caused me a great deal of PAIN in the form of acute sciatica (and I do mean acute, 4 weeks on the floor and max.dose extra strength paracetamol for 6 - 8 weeks) plus the fact that I did not post these to 2 years later in 2005, I dropped a gooley! However I had guessed right although my memory from 10 years ago was playing some tricks on me. The wheels did not belong to the train I photographed, they came from a second chassis, which at the time, in my ignorance (LNER man through and through) presumed they were of the same! How wrong you can be! Now I have to make another presumption, because there are those that will confirm or refute that this can only belong to 35028 'Clan Line' - a rebuilt bulleid merchant navy along with the linked image above.

I'm no expert in stream locomotive mechanics, but I believe the issues may be due to the lack of boiler.

About the engine i know not but the pain i know very well & was myself in bed for 3wks. The sad thing is that once you've had sciatica it seems to become a week spot or is that just me?

I've done some further research on my part based on my previous assumption it was Clan Line, and the locomotive, location and year are a match, courtesy of 35028's official website;

Thus began a long association with the Orient Express train which continues today. There was however a logistical problem in that Southall was some distance in railway terms from Victoria from where these Pullman trains operate. Consequently, the opportunity of relocating to a railway maintenance facility based at a location at Stewarts Lane in Battersea arose and the engine, support coach and back-up workshop facilities were moved in March 1999 and established in a 1950s electric locomotive maintenance building.

It's strange how the memory plays tricks, when I said it to you the other day there must of been a twinkling of a memory, of a chassis! the visit was stolen from a busy day, and rushed rather than savoured. still found the telling photos which answered all!
