hey man, this is awsome. i cant quite figure out if thats facination in his eyes as hes watching a balloon, or innocent terror as hes watching a bomb dropping or something. either way(hopefully not bomb), this is phenominal. is this digi or film if you dont mind my asking?

Hey there sir!
Thank you so much for pondering the piece . This was shot with the Canon 10d and converted to Black and White.
B&W conversion used was Greg Gorman's technique, available at [link] in the Learn section.

gosh, what innocence in his eyes, and those lips, gosh.. what a smile he must have. another amazing personal capture of a moment which would otherwise have drifted off unnoticed.

that's my entire childhood right there. little ADD kid, never paying attention to what i was supposed to, and always looking to the sky... *happysigh*

this is so cute. and so typical of children. while the world is off blahblahblahing...he finds something more interesting and meaningful to examine. like clouds. or...lint. anything!! anything is more interesting than grown-up talk!!

This is an awesome shot! Everyone in the background is talking, but this one little kid is paying attention to something else of interest!
Did that child notice you taking the shot after you took it?

wow cool shot. love the DOF here, the family is so perfectly out of focus...emphasizing that the little boy is in his own world. great expression too!
if you dont mind me asking...what focal length and aperture did you use here?

Only in a child's eyes, can you see such pure wonder and fascination. Love the catchlights.

aww..I can't believe I missed this one..it's so beautiful.
and you're completely correct. It is a wonder when we stop seeing what the children see.
I wish I could go back to the old parks I used to play at as a child and see those same aircrafts and odd objects out of the plain metal bars. Play one last time truely like a child. ..I wonder if that made sense 0_o
great job on this, it brought up many emotions.

Thanks babe! Totally, when I was a kid I totally loved all of that stuff... for example, the playgournd was a place of endless possibilities to me. Slowly, reality took place of imagination, and the playground became a much smaller place.
Wah!

Theres a great feel to this picture. the focus is on the boy whos in his own world. While the adults are fuzzy. Great composition. Keep up the good work

Thank you Nate! I appreciate your insight on the shot... it was taken at Balboa Park; the family was chillin at a picnic and I took this quick shot while talking to the parents.

Thank for the feedback, Acid . I wonder what age it is that we stop seeing the things kids see. It's been a while since I've marveled at a plane, bird, etc.
Actually, that's not true. Every day I marvel at the birds at UC San Diego, ravens that grow to be the size of men.
