Description
I ran over that space monkey by accident. Then I noticed the renegade points, and proceeded to slaughter the entire colony, even after I realized that I only got points for the first one. Worth it.I really could not drive the mako. It was so bad that every time someone mentioned driving anywhere in ME2 I was filled with dread, and every time it was revealed that there was no mako to drive only a cutscene implying that it had been done... great, glorious relief.
And no, I did not like the hammerhead either, thought it was easier to control. I sneezed and it broke. Ugh.
This week Champions and Heroes is 'alternative game week', which translates into 'mako week'. The entire comic can be found here championsandheroes.smackjeeves⦠and on tumblr championsandheroes.tumblr.com/ and is done as a collaboration with the car driving
All hail Bioware!

Every time Mass Effect forces me to drive I am reminded that I should never drive an actual car.

Exactly. Plus this one time I was trying to unstick myself and I ended up bouncing off the road over a cliff!!

Honestly, listening to me drive the mako or the new nomad is like... 30% silence, 50% mild cursing, and 20% NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and similar screams as I fall off a ledge, fail to make it up a steep slope, try to make a gentle turn but end up throwing the car in a sharp 90 degree angle and head off... yes, of course, the ledge.

I HATED it. I swear for Mass effect I could tolerate the lack of aim, how my weapons always missed even when I was directly in front of the guy or the long elevators but I could NOT handle that even Mako thing >.<Β

I drove the Mako like Shepard was a marine. Go through anything and everything that gets in your path. Then hide it to keep the paint clean to take out geth with a pistol.
Ona lighter note you could climb practically anything in her. Get on a super tall hill and snipe enemies to your hearts content. First not pure sniper game that took snipers seriously.

Well... I mostly flail around in a panic and get very happy when I am informed that the enemy is no more. I am an embarrassment to the Spectres.

Nah, I was ok with the hammer. I mean, it couldn't take anything, but it was easier to drive. It would have been nice to be able to save while in it though...

Then you are more skilled with the Hammer then I am, I had a hard first time driving it(do`nt remember how many times I got fried in the lava)

It wasn't that I was good at it, it was just that I was significantly less bad with it than the Mako. When I replayed ME1 I did better though, so there's that I suppose.Β

I don't think EDI would have allowed Shepard to fly the Normandy, considering how poorly that would go, having to take another dimension into account.

I think that even Shepards hamster would be a better flyer, and do you remember the car chase in ME2 in the Lair Of the Shadow Broker DLC?
I think it took me an hour to clear it the first time(my driving was really bad)

Haha, I managed it on the second try... there was a truck or something and I didn't turn in time. Ahem. Requesting better shields for all cabs.

I Demand we get to call joker and have him catch her with a tractor beam or something(or just shoot her down, less people would have died either way)

GwDuncan In reply to Ddriana [2014-05-19 21:47:17 +0000 UTC]
But no, that would just be too easy, just like trying to get into the transport beam to the citadel, but your ride has to crash into a pit and Harbinger then stands in your way...........I still can not forgive BW for sucha endingΒ

I loved the vehicles in the ME series. The Mako was awesome! The Hammerhead was awesome! And the skycar was awesome too (LOTSB). Wish they had more vehicles. Or to drive the Normandy... How cool would that be! *puts sunglasses on* Drift the Normandy through Omega! Oh yeaaah!!

I think... you might be insane.
The skycar was pretty neat though, I could even handle it properly, and I'm ok with the Hammerhead... but I'd just end up driving Normandy into a sun and that would be the end of that XD

I am insane! I love driving. Did 320km for just under three hours on a single carriageway (Limit 90kph) in heavy traffic. No speeding in villages and urban areas.
Can't wait till the middle of Jully. I get to drive 2000km Woohoooo!!!!

Like to add some more driving insanity. The week after my last post, I got the chance to drive some sports cars.
Stuff like Ferrari 458, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Maserati Gran Turismo, Mercedes SL65, the lot!
Drove each car up to the max, or as close as I could get. Maxed out the S-class at 320kmh. Maxed out the Porsche at 340kmh.
Best weekend ever. Did it. Got the feel of going 300+ kmh, not doing it again. Too risky.
Naturally I did this alone. When I got people in my car, I drive slower and slightly above the limit.
So yeah... Taking the bus - not a chance! Need to feel the car. Hear the engine. Experience the magic of the automobile.
I only use the bus when I go to and from the pub XD Otherwise I mostly walk. Use the car when I need it. Premium diesel ain't cheap...

I don't think I would have hated it as much if it wasn't for the fact that it took forever to stand about and wait for the shields to reload. I mean, bad enough that I fall off cliffs all the time, but then being forced to stand there and wait before I can continue and do it again? Ugh :I

the hammerhead really breaks if you sneeze in it. Considering it was made at least two years after the Mako, they could have given it a better platting of shield. That being said, the Mako crazy driving made me laugh so hard I sometimes just landed on a random planet to have some fun ^^. I feel sorry for Tali though. Can you imagine what would happen if she got "car"-sick?

Quarians have got to have some kind of a system for that. I mean... it's not like they take off the suit to go to the toilet repeatedly during the day... I fear I may have spent too much time thinking about this already.
