Description About:This script adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows if the user is online, some days offline, offline for a longer time or invisible.
It also shows you if the user is watching you.

This is a working script! Install it if you want this!

Features:--> adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows his status:
red - Offline longer than a week
yellow - Offline shorter than a week
green - Online
grey - Invisible
--> GM-Menu lets you set if there should be a Not-Watching-Button and since when a Deviant is in red-status!
--> displays a new button "Watching You" when Deviant is watching you, otherwise "Not watching you"
--> only works on their profile-page!
--> uncheck "extra watch-button"to change the present +watch-button instead!
--> if the clock-symbol is shown, the script currently updates your watcher-list! Hover over the symbol to see how many are already updated! (something about 600 Watchers/second)
--> if you go to another profile/actualize while the script is updating, it will resume updating on the new site
--> clicking on the button will get you a setting-window to choose:
- - - >when a Deviant is not yellow but red
- - - >if the button should be visible when not watching you
- - - >after which time the watcher-list should be updated
- - - >If you'd like the long text-watch-button or a shorter one
--> Click on the Friends-button and then "Manage friends". In the upcoming list, hover over the names of the people you watch. After some seconds there should be a little Icon like on their profile-page, when they were last active. Now you can just remove all that are inactive for some years or something^^

Preferences:
Should work with Firefox, Opera and Chrome! For Opera and Chrome see my Howto dediggefedde.deviantart.com/jo… to install properly. It may also work in Safari, but is not tested.

Install: phi.pf-control.de/userscripts/…

Again, it was a visual suggestion, located here: sarahell.deviantart.com/art/DA…
However, I know there is a script that already shows if you are watched.
Well, I wanted to create my own and heard the other stopped working.
But don't think, I just copy some parts from there! This script is fully written by myself!

Update:
Some errors using Firefox are fixed with some rewrites.
Errors with Chrome are fixed by switching to tampermonkey-extension.

Update v3:
I changed the watch-button instead of adding a new one.
It changes to "mutual watchers" when you watch each other.
The profile-page contains now a settings-button.
The Friend-list will now get Icons depending on the user's last activity on hover.

If you update from an earlier version it may display the buttons wrong until you let it refetch your list.

Well, don't worry^^
When you're using firefox, just install greasemonkey-addon and click the install-button on the install-wesite I linked with the install-link^^
When you're using chrome, install tampermonkey and do the same^^
Refresh and it should work.

Dediggefedde In reply to xenaferetek [2012-06-19 21:45:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, as firefox has the easiest procedure I didn't think I would need one^^
Just install the greasemonkey-addon for firefox, go to the install-link in the description above and click "install". Refresh page and everything should work!

Dediggefedde In reply to xenaferetek [2012-06-21 21:39:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, at the linked site there is a "How do I use it" beneath the install-button where there is an explanation for installing greasemonkey...
On later scripts I also wrote that in the description^^ I just see that it is here missing^^

Which browser are you using?
When using chrome, you will see a little toolbar at bottom when you see the source-code asking you whether to install or cancel.
When using firefox, you shouldn't see the source-code, just a prompt.
For Opera you need to right-click and save-as the source-code in your javascript-folder.

So I've got Greasemonkey and Firefox on a mac and it's not installing. Help?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dediggefedde In reply to Furisutairu [2012-04-08 20:17:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, as Firefox works intern on a Mac as well as on Windows and greasemonkey is the same application in both, I would say, there isn't a Mac-only problem...
So, when you have installed Greasemonkey (and restartet Firefox) and visited the userscript.org-site [link] , you should see a green install-button at the top. If you click it, you should see an installation-window pop up asking you to install the userscript.
When everything went right and you visit a profile-page (like dediggefedde.deviantart.com ) and you click on the Greasemonkey-Icon at the bottom, you should see an entry "dev_user_inf".
If there is no Icon, you may have to enable the addon-bar in your firefox-menü.

I really want to use this on chrome , i wish you made a video from the very beginning as it isn't very clear , and i normally figure things out for myself!!

Dediggefedde In reply to eloft [2012-03-16 22:29:25 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for your reply!

Well, I never learned much from videos, so I never made a video and don't have any accounts on any video-sites.
Did you read my HowTo? [link]

On Chrome you need first to install tampermonkey before you install the script (otherwise uninstall the script again).
When you have installed tampermonkey and then visit the install-page there should be a black icon beside the install-button. Clicking now will install the script within tampermonkey.

what kind of symbole i should write next to user name?

Dediggefedde In reply to miya-cchi [2012-03-08 13:58:11 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for reporting your problem!
What do you use? Chrome/Firefox? Does it show anything?
When using Chrome, are you using tampermonkey-extension?
Does the script show within the chrome:extensions tab or is it properly installed within the tampermonkey-options?
You shouldn't need to write any symbol anywhere!

Fyrrea [2012-02-22 14:18:38 +0000 UTC]

I found something!
The script is working properly on Tampermonkey, but on Black Canvas Script Handler it doesn't show everyone who watches you back. I don't exactly know how many watch backs it is not showing, but the older watchers are shown as "not watching".

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dediggefedde In reply to Fyrrea [2012-02-22 16:06:07 +0000 UTC]

yeah, that is a problem with black canvas... They store the variables in cookies, so many scripts aren't working with black canvas...
That's the reason why I decided to link to tampermonkey instead of black canvas.
Later I heard that tampermonkey was the first emulator and the currently best working...
So I don't think I will do anything to make it fully work with black canvas, as tampermonkey is a full alternative to black canvas.

But thank you for using the script and reporting errors!

I works only partially for me
That means, it works fine for the 200 newest watchers, but the 201st person already is shown as "Not watching you"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dediggefedde In reply to Migi47 [2012-02-07 12:16:56 +0000 UTC]

mmh... I just tested it with your friends-list and it works fine for me (all of your 394 watchers were recognized...)
It seems getting your watcher-list was interrupted before loading its second page...
Try to set the "Duration to update Watch-List" to 0 to update it every time you visit a new profile!

nice that it works now^^
If you want, you can set the duration to something higher again, it should work now with that, too...
Although 400 Watchers aren't that much to load for the script, you can let it set on 0, if you want.
