Description
Almonta Beach DunesCoffin Bay National Park
Our recent trip to Eyre Peninsula introduced me to large dunes (though not as large as major deserts). It has also now fuelled the fire to see even bigger and more spectacular ones! These dunes are inland from a pristine white beach on Eyre Peninsula with no clear path to them. Wild weather at the time gave rise to very interesting lighting and photographic opportunities though it was a little painful with sand and rain flying around the place. I didn't dare get the camera too low just to minimise the sand whipping past the body.
On another note, our 2013 calendar is now available and we will be taking orders for the next 2 weeks. details are in the blog post here: [link]

Very similar to the dunes and sunsets in Arizona! Desolate but beautiful at the same time!

I love the contrast between the almost black and white dunes to the colorful sunset. An awesome shot

Fantastic shot. I love the waves in the sand. It really gives a nice texture.
