Port Willunga, South AustraliaA few weeks ago, I headed down to a favourite location for a rare sunset shoot rather than dawn. At the time, there were large bushfires on Eyre Peninsula a few hundred kilometers to the west. This resulted in the strange diffused light which the sun was emitting at the time . The clouds of sunset also helped give a striking appearance to the scene. It was unfortunate that the tide was so low as I would have loved to have seen this with the water around the rocks!
Sorry about the absence here - the Loupe Awards recently had us busy in various ways along with life in general!

What an amazing gallery and a special gift you have by seeing all these beautiful places in the world. This is near my home, so I know what it looks like, every time of the day different. Australia is very special.......thanks for sharing all this beauty with many people out there.

Though I agree this would have looked amazing with the water up around the rocks, I think I like this version better. There's such a rich palette of textures in this photo. It's just amazing! There's the rocks, the sand, the water and the mist, the wood (trees? pilings?), the clouds, and even those little patches of perfectly blue sky. Simply amazing.
The bushfires at least did some good!
