Upon the request of I made a lazy and terrible tutorial on feathered wings (which can be used for angel wings)!Hopefully it helps you get a basic understanding of how to draw wings!
Enjoy!

Yays! But anatomically speaking, since wings are a variation of arms, they should extend from the back of the shoulder blade, not below it.

It's hard to show how the skeleton works in that position, but I imagine the scapula to extend downwards and be modified with a ball-and-socket joint so the wing can move effectively, though I obviously didn't show it with the definition of the shoulder blade because I'm a derp and wasn't thinking OTL

friend, if the wings are that low on his back what muscles does he use to flap them suckers?
what joint do they fit into does he have like another scapula down there?
if he uses the surrounding back muscles to flap them does he flounder like a fish due to muscles on his back contracting in an unnatural way?
them brain puzzlers aside, it's a good tutorial. If one is gunna draw wings, it may be more conducive to show other positions or the back of the wing to show how the feathers on the back of the wing are not similar to the front, but it's a good tutorial on out-stretched wings and the basic feather positioning ouo

He'd have extra muscles on his torso obviously, as well as yes, extra shoulder blades (because if they shared his arm's shoulder blades then he'd have to move his arms along with his wings to fly LOL). I just didn't bother to show this because well, lazy. And, usually they're clothed, so it's not really needed anyways C:
It was really just an extremely basic version of "This is sorta how to draw wings, study shit and figure the rest out on your own because I am a terrible teacher when it comes to wings \o/" in all truth XD (as it says in the description)

I far prefer the image of this poor fellow floundering about cuz of the re-purposed muscles and such.

Hahah, wings in general on a human look weird. Can't win either way :Y
That mental image makes me giggle

well if you replace the arms with wings....
That's prolly the most plausible place them you'd need some kinda ball-and-socket joint and muscles that are used to moving said joint

That's where I'd put them on a species of mine, but friend needed angel wings, so I had to show placement for those instead
