Tip: If you're using AntiAliasing (like me) you would have to set your bucket to expand 1 pixel.

this helped so much for super basic beginners like me, thankyou thankyou so mcuh, I still suck a lot, but I think I'll get better with more practice :3
what do you think helps one to decide what colour to use as a base or second base? do they have correlation?

snowzoriole In reply to snowzoriole [2018-08-01 07:12:45 +0000 UTC]
also how much should I lower the opacity for the first shade colour after flats? (the pink one in your tutorial)
👍: 0 ⏩: 0
deidaraart5 In reply to snowzoriole [2018-08-01 07:07:27 +0000 UTC]
I’m so glad to hear this!!!! You defo will if you keep at it ouo)/
Do you mean the shading color? That one I choose based on if I want the picture to feel warm or cold when you look at it! And to decrease the intensity of the color I’ll usually use a color of a different temperature to reduce the intensity a little (Ie if I use pink I might use blue to balance it since pink is usually warm and blue is usually cold)
I recommend reading into color theory to learn more! It’s a lot of that and a lot of practice and just learning what looks good ouo)/

Hello there! OvO/
I did the steps on the cell shading for practice, and Here's the result. And By cool colors, I mean what specific colors do you use for the highlights?

deidaraart5 In reply to SpectreStrut27 [2018-06-27 03:09:38 +0000 UTC]
It looks really awesome, good job!! Uhhh, in the tutorial I used a yellow sort of color for the highlights tbh??

what layer do I color on after clipping, and why isnt it keeping the color in the lines?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
deidaraart5 In reply to iiSensitiveEren [2018-05-17 09:04:44 +0000 UTC]
i.gyazo.com/f744bbab8771aea233… This might help you a bit!! The base color you have to manually keep inside the lines btw; it’s only the shading/highlighting you don’t have to worry about if you follow this guide!

I'm just a bit confused about clipping the shade layer to your "chain". ^^
Other wise, thank you for this tutorial! This helped a ton with my FA experience!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
deidaraart5 In reply to AloraNight12 [2018-02-08 01:10:08 +0000 UTC]
You see how in the image there’s a picture that has “layer 11” clipped to “base”?? That’s the chain ouo)/ you just continue to clip layers to that “base” layer (or, the chain of layers already clipped to it)

I dnt understand when I put base color, the color paints over my line art. This is so frustrating (T-T)

KatOCAsks In reply to zombiehunt3r182 [2018-01-28 16:22:42 +0000 UTC]
Make another layer and put the color layer under the lineart.
