I have seen it multiple times in my time in secondary school that people can be ignored. I never was as I never allowed myself to be
but I know people who were and are still 'awkward'. So I make my mission that whenever I stride into class, to sit with anyone who is by themselves! (I know who prefers to sit by themselves and who doesn't choose to).
Just take one class, you don't always have to sit with your friends, and you can explain to them if they get upset, but it can make a big difference to someone who feels excluded for someone like ya to appear and take an interest in them!
So yea, you could make a HUGE impact on someone just by simply choosing to sit with them and saying hello! It might not seem like much to you, but it could really mean the world to them.
And the title choice cuz I felt it truly fit

this is really cool! this happens in my school sometimes, when someone just kinda gets left out of the group or the conversation. lately my grade has made goals to avoid doing things like that to others.

Back in high school, me and one friend staked out one lunch table, and we would "adopt" people sitting by themselves to come sit with us. I made some great friends from doing this, and we actually "adopted" the man who would eventually become my boyfriend of almost 5 years now.

I really love this.
Now I do the same. I'll make sure no one has to be alone if they don't want to. I smile at people because it'll make them smile back and feel a little lighter, and sometimes I'll give hugs to random people.

This might not be entirely true for my friend and I, but she was the quietest girl in our 5th grade class, and eventually, we started talking. It turns out now she's the one person who knows me best.

I remember when I moved away from my hometown to my current town two years ago I always sat alone and I felt so socially awkward because I didn't know anyone and I felt that nobody cared to get to know me; I also remember how wonderful it felt when people, who I'm happy to say are now my friends, started to talk to me and made me feel included and accepted.

i would like to, but we always have the same seats, the teachers change from time to time but sitting next to such a quet kid for 6 months isnt always fun so... if i could i would!

Yes, I'm doing that right now. A friend of mine who is very awkward around people and mostly girls is dying, but I chose to stay by his side. I've learned that he is going through a really hard time right now. (He has some bad physical and even worse mental problems. Including suicide attempts.) And I told him that I'm not leaving his side until I know for a fact that his pain is gone. And recently, he told me that he isn't going to die anymore nor does he want to die. I've never been so happy to hear that in all my life. Not that he was going to live, but that HE WANTS TO LIVE!
I'm standing by my oath no matter what happens to me. I'm going to save his life.

people always ask why I never hang around with the "popular kids"
mostly because they are always in trouble, and doing stupid stuff

I'm just like that person who sits alone... The class hates me! Really! So I'm always sitting next to my sister... If me and my sister have a quarrel then I never dare to sit next to her... I mostly sit alone...
