if you did this on multiple parts on the model(s), and added them to mmd to make an awesome vid, would it make mmd seriously lag? or would it be ok?

It all depends on how good your video card is on your computer. I've done what you're saying on mine and it's run perfectly fine. If you want another example of a model, there are some by montecore where they've used skirt-like physics on different places of the same model, like the sleeves and jacket, and it's fine.

It didn't work right. The physics are smoother, but they also go through the legs even with the proper groups unchecked. Yes, I do have physics in the legs and everything. ><;

Oh . Sometimes when I use skirt plugin, the leg still pass though the skirt No matter what I do.

That can be caused by a multitude of things.
A. Do the legs have a different set of bone physics? They need to have a separate set of physics if they don't. Try looking at other models to see what I mean if you're confused.
B. Are the skirt and leg physics set to notice each other?
C. The skirt's physics may go around the leg's physics because they aren't held together properly. This is a iffy kind of thing to deal with and just requires some experimentation. I would say try looking at other skirts joints to see what their settings are and try to use those to find something you like.

Probably C. Aren't held together properly?

Well check um all to be safe.
But yeah the skirt plugin makes these little middle joints, that connect the bone strings' physics and stuff. So they don't separate too far or whatever and cause the leg to go through. To figure them out I would just suggest experimenting with the joint's numeral inputs, or looking at other model's skirts that have those middle joints to see what they do with theirs to make it work.

Is anyone able to get this skirt plugin to work for pmxeditor?
I get some sort of slimDX error when I run pmxeditor, it works fine in pmdeditor.

it rigs the skirt for ya! You just gotta make sure it's all rigged to the lower body bone first otherwise it'll mess up

Sorry for bother you, but this plugin may also work in other things, for example in a long hair? or just in skirts?

DesertDraggon In reply to NadeshikoLove1 [2014-08-16 19:38:56 +0000 UTC]
hm..... well I've used it for jackets, it's worked pretty well. I've used it to rig shirts that need to act like skirts. You can probably use it on sleeves too.
I'm not entirely sure how it would work on hair but I mean we'll never know until we try it right? But no matter what, this shit's always in a circle shape, you're gonna have to delete any bone sets it gives you that aren't attached to the hair.

Make sure the skirt and legs rigid bodies are two different colors, and make sure they are not ignoring each other (if the opposite color's box is checked it is being ignored) Otherwise I don't really know how to help you, I don't have the model.

This keeps happening to me and I don't have the answer yet... It's a weird issue where the physics don't collide each other, no matter what your configurations are... I always ended making manual physics but I'm still making some testings, If I figure out what is happening, I tell you.

Yes it's fine if I don't put in the numbers (the 500s and stuff) it doesn't fall through, but it gets stiff

Did a quick test on the plugin, it works for the english version of PMD Editor 139, but it doesn't work for PMX Editor version 219.
Luckily PMD Editor 139 can still use PMX files.

Anyone know some good tips on using this plugin, I'm having trouble with a converted 3DCG skirt.
It ends up way too stiff after following the tutorial, and the legs still clip through the skirt.

Did you, by any chance, figure what the problem was? -has the same problem-

LazerRay In reply to neko-0W0-nya [2014-06-14 16:52:55 +0000 UTC]
I figured out the stiffness issue by looking at the spring settings on another model and set them up the same way.
(just find a model that was made with the plug-in with similar rigging to what you plan for the skirt and look at the joint settings)
As for the leg issue, its still a bit troublesome, but it was reduced quite a bit from the spring settings.
Good thing the latest version of MMD has improved physics controls, to fix some problem areas.

There is a nice comparison guide for the skirt plug-in and PMD editor that shows the setting places.
Click this link for the comparison guide Link (note: SP stands for the spring settings)
