It's the first time I joined in on a #drawthisinyourstyle challenge, but this morning, when I saw lanajay_art 's post I found the piece intriguing, and I thought to myself 'This should be fun to draw'. It helped me a lot to focus on my colors and shading, and allowed me to make things a bit more cartoon-like. For once, I didn't have to figure out the composition myself, so it gave me a certain amount of freedom in other aspects of the drawing process, as well as challenged me to make a more complex background. Thank you, Lana! I have learned a bit about my abilities doing this.
