This came about as a collage of challenges to draw various objects: a girl, a tree, a mushroom, a spider etc. I liked the result, so I thought of sharing ti with you. I hope it reminds you of some childhood stories.Related content

I had two books illustrated by Marcel Marlier as I grew up. He always drew pretty children in different situations, doing all sorts of interesting things, like traveling to foreign countries or shrinking down to the size of insects. I guess I thought of those while drawing. Just gave them - as you said - a darker twist.
