not really.. its just how your looking at it, people pay more attention to people who are rude about their opinion over those who are kind and respectful. In reality feminism still is feminism despite people being asses, just like lgbt rights still are lgbt rights despite a few people saying 'straight people suck'

It's not how I'm looking at it. It's how feminism is being represented in the media and by feminists who hold the most influence in the media. They have destroyed the idea of feminism and turned into a cult or scheme to take away men's rights; men who are accused of rape are guilty until proven innocent and the man doesn't even have to have come into physical contact with the woman, she can just claim she was raped and the guy is put on trial. It's modern feminism that has messed up society so badly.

I believe sex is completely unimportant to the rights someone is given, so, I guess so..

Why? Because of linguistic evolution. Words change meaning over time.

Many enough "fake" feminist using that word to identify themself resulted in it meaning something else than it originally meant.

Gay used to mean happy, now it means homosexual. Get over it and just call yourself an egalitarian.

well gay still means happy. It's just taken on an additional meaning. Of coarse that's really just semantics, because feminism is a form of critical analysis, and therefor is a method of critique. Methods don't really change, and if they do they become different things entirely. For instance, if what you're saying is true, then you'd have to name the new method. Perhaps neo-feminism. However, I don't think simple misandry would really count as a movement any more then sexism, racism, or classism would.

Or maybe how "men's rights" has been tainted by rape apologists like the founder of AVFM?

I am a feminist, and i was one even back then. But i guess i was just scared of being seen as one of the radfems, so i didn't use that word for myself out of fear of how the world might view me if i said "i'm a feminist".
I knew i was a feminist, but i was too much of a coward to identify as one. Trying to call myself other things instead.
