Probably my new portfolio!I need you guys to give me useful comments on this one,
since I'm going to change it completely to your likings and then use it..
I like the skill-bars I made on the about-page.
Inspired by ^depthskins .

Op het eerste zicht was ik heel positief over deze layout. Nu ik wat dieper kijk mis ik toch wel enkele dingen. Zo is alles nogal sterk textbased, uw menu is gewoon plaintext, met uw linkse bar en uw rechtse bar eronder, niets steekt er speciaal tussen uit.
Verder is alles ook heel licht, waardoor ik uw portfolioafbeeldingen dan weer fel vind uitschieten. Omdat die dan in het blauw zijn en blauw en groen zijn eigenlijk sterke tegenhangers in mijn ogen.
Die skillbars zijn ook zo totaal mijn ding niet, je kan namelijk moeilijk zomaar even een percentage plakken op uw kennis van een bepaald iets, vooral 100% is iets dat mensen graag durven te gebruiken voor xhtml/css ofzo, maar ge zoudt nog verschieten, het gaat hier dan niet om de schrijver van css zen garden maar om de jongen die in uw klas zit ofzo. En ja, ze lijken gewoon te fel op windows xp load bars die iedereen al miljoenen keren heeft gezien en dus ook vrij beu is.
Uw fonts dan, ben nogal een fan van trebuchet ms voor grotere teksten. Vroeger ook veel kleine sans-serif gebruikt ervoor maar uiteindelijk gedacht dat dat echt niet makkelijk moet zijn voor sommige mensen, ook uw line-height staat vrij laag op het eerste zicht.
Wat ook vrij populair is, die bar waar ge nu enkel uw pattern inzet, als ge daar nog wat shapes inzet (niet te veel, enkele "slierten" ofzo) en uw upperbody, origineel is het niet, maar ik vind het wel mooi. Ge kunt er ook objecten inzetten related to de pagina waar de gebruiker opzit. Maar enkel een pattern vind ik vrij leeg.
We maken zowel dezelfde fouten, ik verwijt u nu wat gij mij ook altijd kunt verwijten. Vooral qua gebruiksvriendelijkheid op vlak van tekst en contrast eigenlijk. Dat zijn toch 2 problemen die ik bij u vaak zie terugkomen.
Als ge rondkijkt op Kevin zijn site. [link] ziet ge dat die daar echt veel moeite aan besteed. Op zich al een zwart wit site met grote lettertypes en spatiΓ«ring. Ik moet die zijn site ook eens meer gaan bekijken..

Bonus points for the pattern! The windows xp look-a-like (bah) skill bar wasnt really original for me, the rest of the design is very nice!

I like the colors you have chosen, they are very relaxing and easy on the eye. Maybe I would make the pattern a little smaller in the height since it seems like something is missing there, like something was supposed to be shown in the field.
You have chosen an excellent way to make your links stand out and let the user know where he/she is.
Be sure to check your text so that nothing is missing. It is kind of annoying when there are missing words and you can't get the context.
But besides that, I really like your design, and will be looking forward to see how your portfolio part will work online.

Well I found a sentence where there was a word missing, I think you might have forgotten to put a word in the sentence as you were writing..... But I'm pretty sure you will fill in with a lot of other things once you get the website uploaded.

I think this is great... I love the patterns (speaking of where did you get those, did I tell you I love them?).
One thing that looks unbalenced though is the disclaimer near the bar in the center. I think it might be the pages on top of each other with the header touching it... im not sure.. just draws my eye to that for an odd reason.
Overall 2 thumbs up though.

Wow, that's awesome... I loving the skills section with the bars.
No real flaws here in my opinion. Unless we are talking about accessibility/ussability, the text could have more contrast, nothing else...
And maybe give the footer a bit more space above it?
But it's very good as it is. Good work.
Where did you get that green pattern for the header btw? I've been looking for such pattern(s) for ages... Or did you make it yourself?
