My apologies for taking so long to start Act II, but I've had a lot going in real life. Thanks for hanging in there.

I goofed and forgot to re-tint my fire glow orange to match with previous pages, which is why it's yellow on this and the next page. I may go back and fix this later, but for now I'm leaving it. I know you folks are as interested as I in getting this story rolling again. XD

This and the next page include my own expansions on this part of this particular scene in the original short story, such as the inclusion of allusions to other episodes of TOS, in order to further pad this scene out for my STNV web comic adaptation.

Another Vulcan ritual ... and me with only a medikit - One of several references on this and the next page to TOS "Amok Time." I'm even using one of the soundtrack selections from it as Spock describes the mok farr for McCoy's sake.

Just as Captain Kirk had to face his own savage self three years ago ... - per TOS "The Enemy Within," which also gets referenced several times in the STNV pilot "Ni Var."

... until my father reminded me during his visit with us. - per TOS "Jouney to Babel."
