Some story I've got in my head that I'm just slowly making content for because I can't write all that well.

Write it! It's NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)! I've had this story idea itching at me for a year and a half. Granted, I'll never make it to 50,000 word count at all, at least I got started.
Get writing! I finished my first chapter in about 3 days time. A short chapter I will be honest. The point is practice makes perfect. I totally understand if you plan on directing your time towards making more art though. You should at least give it a chance, open up a Google Doc so you don't have to worry about not saving.
I'm new to writing also and my story idea isn't even a fanfic. I'm actually trying to write a completely original story (if you can call it original). Just write one chapter. You'll find you'll get more ideas for the next as you move along your day. I hope that you are motivated to get out there and write.
If you find you have writer's block, take a break. Play some games, draw some more awesome art, and get back to it. Don't let your amazing idea slip away. Your writing just might touch someone's soul. Just make sure that your story is trying to say something. Get help if you need it.
