Description An Art Trade with , The Thing 1951 vs The Thing 1982.

Sorry about the cruddy textures... my scanner doesn't do well with orange for some reason. It looks better in person. >_>

I prefer the 50s Thing to win since the 80s thing is shown to only assimilate animals (the 50s Thing is plant-based)

Oh my god, I love this picture. I personally side with 1982 Thing for the fight but I love the idea and the art.

The Thing from 1951 as always been my favorite while the 1982 version has always disgusted and made me sick inside and out, but it is interesting that if theseΒ two meet and fought to the death to see who comes out on top, I bet the James Arness version would kick the crap out of the Wilford Brimley version.

Β

I give it 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!

Β

P.S. if you want to, could you make one with The Fly 1958 vs. The Fly 1986?

funny this would've never happened anyway you do realize john carpenter's film wasn't a remake exactly. it was closer to the original book "Who goes there?" Written by john Campbell in 1935. in the book it refers the monster as the thing but also describes it more to the 1982 one " A Aggressive Alien Life form that Absorbs and Assimilates Cells and can gain memories thoughts from those it absorbs and can look identical to the original, also when threatened it would rapidly mutate into other organisms it had absorbed into and attack anything that gets in it's way." in fact all the character's names in the 1982 movie are the same characters from the book including Blair as well. only thing different really was more of the ship was shown in the book and the dogs' had names. well the yea huskies that turned into that gruesome thing in your picture.. i remember when i saw that scene the first time i never went to sleep that night i just stared at my dog and hope it wasn't infected too. XD

Oh my god I love it. I actually drew a picture like this a long time ago.

Just for kicks and giggles I'd love to see Marvel's THE THING in the background looking confused.

Fun note, the story had FAR more in common with Carpenters rendition.
