Description Tutorial 4 - fractal walkthrough

.......its full of spelling error... that will teach me to go off and upload without proof readin

So here I made a fractal and go through how it was made. At the same time I touch on how to use Xaos, but I feel as if more explanation my be needed in the future.

I hope its somewhat helpfull

I suggest that if you're new to Apophysis you go through tutorials 1-3 first since I tend to build on them over time.

nice one - did it in Jwildfire - had to make some minor adjustments but when I just followed your excellent directions I got the result.

You can make the upgrade to 7X - 15B is nice, will feel comfortable, but still 32bit. Invisible is now called Opacity and it's still in the color tab.

Very nice tutorial, sets a solid foundation and easy to comprehend.

No problems I try not to post things to groups late as to avoid the whole "deviation reappears in mailbox months later" thing... But I guess it happened anyway

You have an ability to state things in a simple and clear way. The pictures support your descriptions well. Keep up the good work!

I'm glad it was easy enough to follow I found Xaos a complicated concept to understand when I learned it, so I worried that most people would get lost if I tried to explain it.

You described it very well, in terms that can related to and remembered. That's what really counts in a tutorial. (besides accuracy of course) The color symmetry is another slippery concept.

I can hardly wait to see what you tackle next!

'Invisible' is now more sophisticated in 7X and is available by setting 'Opacity' to 0 (the parameter has changed from a binary toggle to a full-spectrum value). There may be compatibility issues reading some flames, though - invisibility was coded into the flame XML as 'plotmode="off"', and that sometimes remains, causing discrepancies between display and rendered picture whatever the opacity is set to. It can be removed by editing the XML manually.

Oh! I see, well that makes sense. I really like invisible so it would have been odd if the ability to do things similarly disappeared completely. I guess I didn't look around enough Thanks a lot I think I will look at Apo 7x again then.

Absolutely! Forward-compatibility is essential With 7X, you still get to work in 3D if desired, plus you have direct colouring to play with
