Description
"Outpost 287, a mining facility on a remote planet. Providing recources for the highest bidder."Just a small piece to get me going. I have been struggeling with creativity for some time now and fooling around with tg2 once again gave me some inspiration and a good base to work on. The terrain is done in tg2 and the rest (planets, thin clouds and mountain bases) was added with photoshop.
Enjoy!!

This is a nice piece, but I thoguht it needed something more, like higher lightining. So, I gave it a try: [link]

well, that is a very interesting change, i quite like it. Maybe a little to much contrast and to bright but it's looking good. Maybe we could work on this together and then publish it. Let me know what you think.

There is usually long gaps between your work but it is always worth the wait, good job.

i like the clouds and texture of that planet. i still dont understand how is possible to make terrain like this hovever picture is too shiny, maybe more contrast will look much better and i like that stations in ground, nice idea

Well, what can i say? I _LOVE_ this one. It's simple, but oh so effective. The angle and lighting is just right and the details that just popup on full view give you the "whoa" effect. Really nice.
Very nice. Wallpaper nice.

tnx a lot man. I love detail so i try to put as much in my pieces as possible without overdoing it. No this is a pretty minimalistic piece but as you said, it works.

Less is sometimes a lot more! I haven't actually had the time to work my way into TG2. Looking at this I might have to after all.

i know how it is with creativity. i've been going back and forth between tg, tg2, vue 6, and 3ds max. man, lot to learn. nice work.

A very nicely composed piece. I need a larger monitor to view the whole image at once, but the concept is great. I think you could take this piece to even greater heights with additional time. My one question is how do the workers get to Outpost 287?
TG2 really as some great enhanced terraforming capabilities based on what I see in this piece. I will eventually get there, I suppose, but for now I will keep plugging along with the original version.
Keep up the great work. It's nice to see you submitting again!

Well the terrain i created here is not very hard to create with tg2. The biggest problem are rendertimes atm. 8+ hours for this one and if you do it more complicated you will soon be rendering a whole day. Can't wait for multicore support How the workers get there...... ehh "beam me up scotty" i guess

The texture on the terra is pretty bland, but everything else looks good.
I wish I could make terrains like that. =/

Hmm yes, great sense of scale and realism here, great work. Nice integration of the mining facility spires and such too. Overall a pretty good minimal piece (and hopefully you can get some inspiration to make new artworks
).

It's the sparseness of the facilities that works. Gives it a great sense of scale.
