Description
Get my latest Simplify 10 themes: gumroad.com/dpcdpc11 for Windows 10!
Description:This one is made with a single goal in mind: Usability With Style!
Hope you like it!
Feel free to Support my artwork! ... thanks!
UPDATE 04 (Jan 21, 2013)
- added another style version 4-1 which is a combination of version 4 and the transparent taskbar of version 2.
Hope you like it!
UPDATE 03 (Oct 21, 2012)
- added version 4 visual style. Yeah baby... it's a 1px border VS... now with small little circles as caption buttons!
Use Windows 7 Aero Blur Tweaker to remove the ugly blurry window edges! NOTE: I can confirm that latest Firefox and Thundebird work perfectly with this 1px border VS... the usual bug is NOT present!
- also included in the pack my FourSome start Orb
Enjoy!
UPDATE 02 (Sept 28, 2012)
- added version 3 visual style with dark grey opaque taskbar. This pushes usability even further. Now you can use any wallpaper you like without having to worry about the taskbar's transparency. My favorite version yet... Enjoy!
UPDATE 01 (Sept 09, 2012)
- added version 2 visual style: 28px height taskbar (small icons); 43px width taskbar icons. From experience this brings more usability to the theme. Yes, there's no Start Button in the preview... here's how to do it: dpcdpc11.deviantart.com/art/Re…
- redesigned the taskbar thumbnails to better match the theme.
Full view ScreenShot: here!
TIP: to stop the damn glow effect of the icons in the taskbar, Go To Computer>(Rclick)Properties > Advanced settings > Performance > Settings: UnCheck Animations in the taskbar and Start Menu
Package includes:
- the theme itself
- Explorer Navigation Buttons
- Windows Start Buttons: Blocks Borderless Start Orb and FourSome start Orb
- Matching windows cursor schemes: Simplify Cursors
What's not in the package:
Icons used in the preview: Token by brsev

thanks for this super coool theme..using it right now.
Got one suggestion though if you have time, maybe you could add some margin-left to the ICONs of open any application, on the top-left corner of it's toolbar.
Thanks,

that's not really necessary since the active icon on the toolbar is always obvious and different from the rest.

Really great theme, it kinda has an even more minimalistic retro feel to it. Only downside is the awkwardness of not being able to see what I'm typing in to search. The start menu search is easily one of my most methods of launching applications, and it's a seemingly needless omission from an otherwise great theme (in my opinion at least). I read in other comments that you aren't going to put it back in, so I guess all I can do is beg of you to reconsider. It would only take up space in the start menu which is empty anyway, as far as I can see. Thanks anyway for your (mostly) great work.

thanks for your comment!
now regarding the search in the start menu... I know people use the search a lot but from my experience and others', people don't usually search for more than 3-4 letters before they find what they need, so even if you misspell those 3-4 letters, it's not much of an effort to hit ESC and start typing again. That's why I consider the search bar useless.

I realy wish I could get Version 4's UI features with Version 2's dock.
It's my favorite theme other than that!

hi... from what I've read over the internet, the guys at mactype are updating more often their sotfware and gdipp didn't get an update in long time.
not sure thought which one is better since I'm not using neither at the moment.
try them out and see for yourself.

Hey, I was wondering how you made your task bar look like that. The indented squares because I've installed the theme. But I can't seem to change how the task bar looks D: any help?
Btw. I love the look of it

no offense man but use a little brain, will you!?
the theme only changes the background of your taskbar and its elements... nothing else! the theme doesn't magically place objects on your taskbar! you have to pin icons there, change the Start Button (that's what the 4 freaking squares are... the start Buttons!), remove the start Button, change the icons to the pinned short cuts etc.
If you want to make the taskbar narrower then use the "Use small icons" option... everyone knows that! google it for krist's sake!
Glad you like it anyway!
Thanks for downloading!

I have a strong dislike for 99% of the themes out there. But this, this I like. Thank you for your hard work, including the detailed instructions and links to software. It makes using your theme so much more of an enjoyable experience.
It would be cool to see another version or two that include a measure of transparency for the title bar area.
Also, maybe it's just me but the 'cursors' link doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for all of the work you put into making great usable VS's
One thing that I look for in a VS is the option to make a new folder right under the address bar. Yes, its also easy to just right click, but I love just having the option, and its usually a deal breaker if its not there, so thank you so much....great job!

dpcdpc11 In reply to rdj550 [2012-10-22 02:00:35 +0000 UTC]
Really thank you for all your kind words!
That was my goal... to make usable Visual Styles... I hate using a cool looking theme which is not usable. Distracts my workflow and gives me great pain in my eye.
And now I can't use others' themes cause in every one of them I find glitches and little things that annoy the crap out of me.
So I started making my own themes. Now I've taken usability to the max with this theme and in version 4 I've added a bit of finesse.

dpcdpc11 In reply to liverpal [2012-10-21 12:37:08 +0000 UTC]
sorry but I won't add the search bar. It seems useless to me. The search is still there, it's just that you don't see the search bar.
And most user never search more that 3-4 words in the start menu.

is there a way i can have my taskbar look like that and change nothing else?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
dpcdpc11 In reply to reddead66 [2012-10-18 16:40:19 +0000 UTC]
if you use this theme, then you''l taskbar will change accordingly. As you can see there are 3 versions of the theme, each with a different taskbar.
if you are referring to the icons, then all you have to do is create shortcuts of you favorite programs, change the icons to the shortcuts and the pin them to the taskbar (drag and drop to the taskbar).
if you want small icons, then set the taskbar to small icons.
there's no 3rd party software used in the screenshot except for the one that removes the start button.

I really really LOVE this theme!
I have a suggestion, when I'm in some application/games, aero will be temporary disabled,
then the original aero basic boarder will be displayed. It just does not match the theme.
Could there be a chance of also including the basic theme?
