Fergus awakens from another a dream. He's been getting those a lot lately.Though this one was slightly less traumatic than the last... It still holds some... confusing and painful emotions.
History it seems, has a way of repeating itself.
And we see a few familiar faces...
Its almost as though they're all connected somehow....

OMG confirmation that M is Straw Hat followed almost immediately by the reveal that the human Fergus helped was also Straw Hat/M! You're gonna spoil us at this rate.
Seriously though, I'm really excited to get back and see how Fergus and Nule are doing. I love both these guys so much! I do feel a little nervous for Nule though. Your written story already referenced Nule's intro to the rest of the Dunn family not going as smoothly as was hoped, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out here. Not to mention how Fergus might react when he hears about the visitor the farm got recently...
*reads notes* Wait, Echo? *Looks back at comic* Holy Crap, I was so focused on Nam and Fergus during those two scenes that I didn't even notices he was there!
You did a really great job and drawing little Nam and Fergus btw. They are both real cute, and I can easily see them growing up into the adults we see in the comic.
On a slightly unrelated note, I was thinking about the Goblin of Dornenholtz story the other day. I thought about Nule's future in the town, and my mind ended up going on this long tangent about what would happen if Nule actually found someone to marry and have kids with when he got older, and his wife agreed to live in the town, and then some of the kids stayed and managed to convince other goblins to live there. So now I just imagine that, in the far flung future, that there's this entire community of goblins living within Dornenholtz. Anyone who stops by, that isn't it a local, discovers this community, and can't help but wonder how the heck THAT happened. XD

There were some readers who guessed M's connection with Straw-Hat and Kizzy awhile ago.
For the past two chapters I've wondered when people would begin making the connection. As predicted, a lot of people made the connection between M and Straw-Hat when they first saw Straw-Hat's face. But I was surprised more people didn't make the connection with Kizzy. After all, I showed Kizzy's face twice before introducing Straw-Hat. Once with just the outline:

The art style has changed subtly over time, but the resemblance is still strongly there. Though these pages did come out a long time ago. And most of the readers who've been with this comic for awhile probably don't remember those bits too clearly.
We're about to get back into it with Fergus and Nule. So that's nice. Though Nule has a hard time getting used to new people. He won't exactly be too gung ho about the Dunns.
Yep! Echo is there too. Fergus and Nam didn't notice him. I wanted to give the audience the chance to either see him or miss him as well. So he blends into the branches of the trees. If you focus in on Nam and Fergus, you may miss him. But if you notice him there in the background, he can give the viewer a bit of a chill. I thought that would be fun.
I liked drawing Nam and Fergus as children. They both have such stubborn personalities. And I like that it gives the audience some insight into what Fergus is like and what he cares about.
Lol. A colony of goblins living in Dornenholtz. Not impossible, but a pretty hard sell. Goblins really don't like the stallo. Some have formed bonds with individual stallo in the past. But the vast majority are terrified of them. But the idea of a tiny family of goblins just sort of fitting into the community there is a cute image.

Fergus and M... There is a lot of baggage there on both sides. It will be interesting to see how they come together.
Echo is a bit single-minded. We'll see how it behaves moving forwards.

If magic has basically no effect on humans, this is even more concerning than it already would be to find some nearly dead rando in the woods

Magic has very little effect on humans because humans don't have magic inside of themselves. It takes a stupid,powerful amount of magic to even phase one. So you can probably guess that whatever laid M out, was extremely powerful. And they weren't pulling any punches either.
M here is very lucky. That kind of hit would have obliterated any other species instantly.

I'm glad you like it! Honestly I had first planned on doing muted colors or sepia tone, so that it would be similar to the previous dreams/memories. But as I was drawing the first image of Fergus and Nam running, I thought it would be cool if sunlight was filtering down through the trees and spattering them. I may have gotten a bit carried away though...
