Fergus awakens at the Dunn farmhouse. Full of worries, and memories. The stallo's gloom softens however when he hears tiny snores coming from the cigar-box on the dresser.

Nule it seems, fell asleep in Fergus' pocket the previous night, and hasn't stirred since. Which makes sense. Its the first time Nule has felt completely safe in a very long time. The stress of the past few days finally seems to have caught up with him.

Goblins have evolved over the centuries to resemble the children of larger races. This was an evolutionary advantage for their survival. It made larger races less likely to harm them, and more likely to want to protect them. And when you live in a world that's entirely too big for you, being able to endear yourself to others naturally is a big plus.

Fergus definitely wasn't expecting to grow this fond of Nule so quickly. But having a tiny goblin child fall asleep, snuggled up in your pocket is quite the experience. Enough to crack even the stoniest of exteriors. Fergus finds himself growing a bit attached, inspite of himself. But the goblin's presence opens up a new set of troubles.

Who is this wizard chasing Nule? Why are they so desperate to capture him? And what kind of awful life must this goblin have known, in order to say the things he did, the night before? Somehow, without even realizing it, Fergus has found a mantle of responsibility tossed squarely into his lap. A responsibility he never agreed to...
