Description From Pokemon Live, MechaMew2...

After attempts to capture and control the powerful marvel of genetics, Mewtwo, Giovanni devised a new plan. Utilizing the same process that originally gave birth to Mewtwo, the scientists of Team Rocket produced an even greater clone. Before it developed enough to go the same path as it's predecessor, Giovanni ordered that a controlling unit be surgically implanted within its brain. This unit would be able to literally shut down the new clone's body should it begin to go against Giovanni. The process to inplant this device left the clone's body ravaged and weak, almost so much that it could barely lift itself.
With that, a new body was construsted for the clone. Made from an unknown alloy (similar to the metal that comprises Registeel's body), this body can withstand virtually any attack, and with a function Giovanni dubbed "Attack Back" it can instantly learn any move used against it, and send it back with much greater force. With its new body and nearly limitless power, the newly named "MechaMew2" became Giovanni's most powerful weapon.
At long last, MechaMew2 came face to face with its predecessor, Mewtwo, and the two engaged in mortal combat. Although powerful, Mewtwo proved to be no match for the mechanical horror. A trainer fought along with Mewtwo, and drew MechaMew2's attention away from Mewtwo long enough for the genetic Pokemon to recover. As a last resort, Mewtwo sent wave after wave of emotions pouring into MechaMew2, until its damaged mind finally snapped, and it turned its attacks on Giovanni. As a final blow, MechaMew2 unleashed its Self-Destruct, devasting the Viridian Gym. Mewtwo and the trainer stood over the ruined gym before going they're separate ways. The battle was over.
However, Giovanni would not be taken down so easily...

You and your wonderful robo drawing skills...

It's stuff like this that make me envious. In the good way of course.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked both the drawing and the writing. Ever since I first read MechaMew2's history I've turned it over and over and my head, making it morbid beyond the original intent. If I knew what I did with it, I'd sure you the sketches of MechaMew2's unmasked face and original helmet.

Double posts can be fun, too.

So cool! But who's the trainer?

...ummm.... if you need a character, just message me, I can think of cool ideas pretty quickly....

Dragga In reply to TsukikotheServal [2007-05-09 23:44:06 +0000 UTC]

The trainer was actually Ash in the show, but I have very little respect for the most of the show's characters, so I just left it as "Trainer".

I kind of wish I actually saw Pokemon LIVE for myself. It sounded like it was a cool show.

It sucked. I thought it was cool at first, but I was 8 at the time, so I didn't know any better.

I didn't know about it myself until a few months ago. Turns out there was a live show of Pokemon that featured MechaMew2 as one of the characters. (Technically, that means he's the only American made Pokemon to date.) I took the story that I knew and made it into this picture's backstory.

Glad ya liked it, by the way.

Thanks. It's funny, but I lost this sketch for a while, but I found it this morning and finished it in school. (It just seemed more important than US History to me. )

Once again, very well done!

Good job! Though I don't remember Pokemon looking so complicated ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragga In reply to Roter-Tod [2007-05-10 00:11:18 +0000 UTC]

Well, I didn't want to compromise MechaMew2's potential by simplifying it to the typical style of Pokemon, so I drew him in my own style.

I'm glad you liked it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Roter-Tod In reply to Dragga [2007-05-10 00:14:27 +0000 UTC]

Well even the legendaries were simple. Hell even "Metal Mewtwo" (As they used to call him) was simple. I mean no offense at all, I'm just a "Old-style" pokemon fan. (I only like generation 1-2, but I do have emerald and diamond)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragga In reply to Roter-Tod [2007-05-10 00:39:19 +0000 UTC]

True, but I've always found their simplicity as somewhat hindering to how they'd move and such, which is why my style of drawing them adds a lot to their body structures and so on. That, and I usually find that the simple appearences they have were meant to make them seem somewhat cuter less menacing than they'd more than likely be. (Gyarados's lips come to mind here.)

Generation wise, I'm a 1st Gen guy myself as I'm particularly fond of Charizard and Nidoking.

By the way, who's Metal Mewtwo? I don't think I've actually seen that one.

Roter-Tod In reply to Dragga [2007-05-10 01:01:28 +0000 UTC]

"Metal Mewtwo" was the name dubbed by fans, to the movie mewtwo, when he wore that suit in the first movie.

Ah...I wanted base MechaMew2 more off of that armor at one point, but I kept messing up the helmet.

The only complaint I have is that, you kinda rearranged his body. (unless he's total robot, the you can do whatever you want)

This isn't a complaint but, I think he would look better if you used the pen tool on him.

Lemme see your other work.

Dragga In reply to Roter-Tod [2007-05-10 01:22:59 +0000 UTC]

Pen tool? I've never had access to a pen tool...well, except an ink pen or the erasing method, but those were too complicated for this.

As for the body, because MechaMew2 is mostly machinery, I just did what looked good. This was the original in case you're interested or haven't seen it. [link]
