This one's been requested quite a lot, but I don't assume that it will get very many views because this is primarily a drawing website. Oh well, I at least know a few people who could use this, and it sure beats reexplaining myself a godzillion times. Well, enjoy! If anyone out there needs a tutorial on something I'm good at, go ahead and request it!

I know this post is 3 years old but this is really helpful!

Though, there are some quirks with SPCTool.
I noticed that SPCTool makes the samples in certain SPC files inaccurate. I tried ripping SNES samples from JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken, and I noticed that the samples are accurate during playback, but if you play the sample, it doesn't sound right.

I going to share my workaround with the issue for those who suffer the same problem as well.
I searched a bit more and found this nifty tool called split700. I don't need to explain how to use it since a simple Google search will do. It was able to rip out the samples perfectly and accurately. And for the loop points... it might require trial-and-error but it's not much of a hassle if SPCTool was used with it.

Aw, sweet! Thanks for sharing this. SPCTool is a quirky program that frequently crashes on me so I'm up for any alternatives out there.

Yeah, SPCTool does crash often which is a bit of a problem. It also can't rip samples accurate from some certain games, sadly. It was quite useful for me to find the loop points of the samples, though.

The program doesn't work on my computer. I'm running Windows XP 32-bit.

Hmmmm...You're having trouble getting SPCTool to work? Try right-clicking the program, then going to Properties -> Compatability. When you're there, see if you can run the program in any of the compatability modes. It's a 32-bit program, so you shouldn't have that much of a problem getting it to work.
