There are a few of you who may think that this is a good thing. But you know what I think? It's not. I'll tell you why:It used to be that when you block someone, they just can't reply to your page. But for some reason, dA thought it was a good idea to update it so that people can't reply to you AT ALL. ANYWHERE. It may sound good at first but if you really REALLY think about it, it will backfire and create even more drama.
It is possible for trolls to abuse this updated block feature and spam your page with multiple sockpuppet accounts that you can't reply to because you're blocked. "So what?" You say, "you can just block back or report them." True. But what if this happens to you?
Also, what if you wanted negotiate for a diplomatic solution (or in simpler terms, talk it over)? There has to be at least some way to put an end to the drama if you wanted to end it. "Oh, if you get blocked, chances are you deserved it and don't deserve second chances." Butthurt anti-second chancers can eat a dick for all I care. I believe in second chances, but I also believe in taking responsibility for your own shit. So fuck you to butthurt anti-second chancers.
TL;DR: The updated block feature sucks and will only do more damage than good.

What's even worse is that there are people who make fun of others for "blocking because of different opinions" then they eventually do the same themselves.

Yeah I've dealt with that a lot. I remember someone who I though was my friend who was in a screen cap and I had no idea it was them because it name and icon was blocked out. Well I commented on the screen cap and I didn't know it was my friend until I found out why the blocked me and instead of asking me if I knew that was them in the screen cap they assumed I knew and blocked me.
Another friend of mine who is also a ban evader said that eh would never block people and every now and them I would leave him funny messages like this for example:
You capitalize words that aren't supposed to be capitalized. for example you capitalized "away" yet away isn't a proper noun. Yeah but there's no rule that says you can't. SO fuck off. My teachers never say anything about it. PM chat entry, although we're still not sure why Blargh bothered. Also, yes there is a rule against it. Oh exploitable! Β A true goddess. Β Her boyfriend is hawt stuff! How Goddess Millenia sees herself. How everyone else sees her.
And rather than telling me that he didn't like that he blocked me. It really hurt me when he did that because I was really close to him. I'm glad that if something like that happened to you would atΒ the veryΒ least would tell me that it was bothering you and ask me to stop.

Please do not call me "brony," I do not like being associated with that term. I may like ponies,but I do not like the name. I would rather prefer "Pegasister" or a nice gender neutral term for people that like ponies.
It at least stops the trolls from flaming your page with shit. Honestly it would piss me off if I had to wake up to twenty inflamatory feedback messages and hundreds of negative feedbacks basically.

If you are nothing like those male hipsters who think that dressing like a woman makes them "trans" and end up doing rather ultra abusive shit then MAYBE I might be considerate of your gender identity. For your sake I'd steer clear of tumblr considering how a Japanese trans woman (yes, a Japanese trans woman) had racist attacks and was harassed off of the site just for even speaking about what Japan is like. A white dude masquerading as a trans woman by the name of "transgalacticwanderer" whipped out his dick in a photo of his when he has underage followers and talked about wanting to have sex with minors.

I'm truthfully playing by reality,though the only ways for me to escape it is my passion for games. And that's not even our issue here. Really,our main concern is what ludocrisy goes on.
I barely use my Tumblr. Sure I post there,but not as much anymore due to school. To be honest I was thinking of at least going on a hiatus for a while,so I could clean out my followers and unfollow the inactive blogs and ones I just don't see on my dash. I tend to stay off of my dashboard at least,because it's more fun to just scroll through tags and see what's posted in them.

I pointed out a flaw on someone's article and then the someone's watcher came and insulted me. I was going to tell him that he was wrong to do that, but I got blocked. Talk about a butthurt prick.
Anyway, I blocked him back so that he can see how he likes it when I give criticism and he can't do anything about it.

The reason I'd like for the block feature to block the page is I blocked a recent ex-friend and I don't want her all up in my business! I mean, yeah the no comments are nice, but they can still view my journals and stuff. If I blocked them, why would I want them to continue to know what's going on in my life? You know?

You can't stop people from viewing your page. This isn't Facebook. It's much better to ignore them unless that ex-friend wants to rape or murder you, then you have to get the police involved.
