Description
This is a modification of Birth Of Movement and Time 1 [link] and is my entry into =Veganvictim s Time Contest, which you can find here [link]Those of you who know me, know I'm a total colour addict and can rarely leave anything monotonal for long! Such is the case with this piece. As much as I was pleased with the original, I just felt there was so much more I could do with it... So those of you with a headache I advise you to look away now...
I left it in the Traditional Art category because although it has undergone alterations on the computer, I feel far more time went into the original drawing than went into the modifications.

ye..nobody can play as well with colors as you! jesus, it'd hard for me to fully get what I am seeing viually..can't even think how you begin a composition like this!

Hahaha! Cheers! Well it started just as a black and white piece, but I can't resist smothering things in colour! I started by scanning the original into my computer and then creating lots of versions of it on Photoshop each with different layers and colours, some inverted as well, and then I gradually took circles from each of them and put them on one main piece and mucked about with them until I got the image I wanted. I doubt I'd be able to create it again because I've totally forgotten which order I put the layers on!!! Whoops, I really should write that stuff down!

This is amazing work. It's full of happiness and life (though the music I listened to when I met it may have affected my perception of it). It's very beautiful...
This sort of thing I would normally call dreamlike - random swirls of emotion and thought. But it doesn't seem that way with this. Seems as though you knew exactly what you were doing, completely conscious of what the outcome would be, and it came out perfectly. Fantastic.

I've always like things with color to them...though sometimes lined art comes out just as wonderfully

Ella darling-this is right up my alley. You know that--don't you. I think both the colored and black and white are good. For this particular drawing--I prefer the blak and white. Why?--an abstact such as this is in the line/texture--etc as you know. The uncolored version shows more form. That's my take on it anyway. Once again---I'm going to take it. When I manipulated the original I knew that by adding colour I would be destroying certain elemnts of the lines and shapes, but in a way that was the intention. Time has a way of slipping through our fingers and we're never in control of it. I wanted the bubbles and circles of colour to represent pockets of time. Some things overlap in places the way they overlap in life.
I totally get what you're saying though. The original has a sense of movement which is lacking in the colour version, but the colour version has far more layers of stuff goin on and I think the monotonal version is quite flat in comparison.

I'm going to take another--closer look. I probably didn't give it the time it needs---abstracts all need a certain amount of time to see--some probaby off and on for days.
