Description Part 2! I squished 2 and 3 into one tutorial because I'm lazy. So, last tutorial unless theres something else you guys want explained. Wich means this file is huge, watch out dial up users!

Part one of the tutorial, Isolating Lineart: [link]

This is by no means the only way to color, or the only method you should use. Everyone has different needs as an artist and everyone has their own way of doing things. I encourage you to seek out other methods of coloring and creating your images, because that's the best way to learn!

Hope this helps, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Yeah, I know I color in a weird ass way. D:

PS: I highly recommend that anyone who is serious about getting into coloring and such on the computer get a tablet. It makes it a bajillion times easier and faster! I recommend Wacom Tablets because I've got nothing but good things to say about mine. I use a 12x12 Wacom Intous 2 to work in photoshop.

I couldn't tell you, I have never used elements, from what I understand it's a watered down version- but it should have the pen tool. Try going windows>tools maybe? the pen tool should be on there.

Hi, I saved this in my pc. It's really nice of you to show this.
I have one question and it 's which kind of brush did you use? I really don't know how you do this magic while coloring, you are skilled. Congrats!!

You work with 4 Layers only or adding some more layers for different color areas ?

I really want to know how you work on your "big-ones"

peace !

drak In reply to zeRO-Arts [2009-01-23 01:29:12 +0000 UTC]

This is a pretty generalized tutorial, for complex pieces I add many different layers, one of each of this process shown (sometimes more) for each subject in the picture that I want to keep seperate- background, middleground, foreground etc. And even more for textures and misc effects I want to throw in, so it ends up being anywhere from 20-50 layers. After I'm done I flatten the whole thing to mess around with filters and colors.

But I loosely follow the steps shown in this tutorial for each part, there are just many parts

Very awesome tutorial. The only thing that isn't really working is the sharpen filter. (When I tried on one of my own pictures) I can hardly see the difference. It could just be me though.

I usually flatten the image before applying it, did you try that?

Also glad ya like.

so technically its impossible to color without a tablet D:

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GreenDaysFinest In reply to ersum [2008-02-01 15:50:53 +0000 UTC]

No. Its just REALLy time consuming and tedious. Having a tablet makes it like youi are coloring in real life...if that makes sense.

Maybe I'll try out that sharpen filter next time. It looks nice.
