Description
Funny that Cyra and her mom probably got along the best out of any of my characters and their respective parents....Or disconcerting, depends how you look at it.
Here, I picture her coming to her daughter's defense against someone else's parent. (Back when Cyra was younger, naturally.) Anyhow, that'd certainly be her reaction to hearing Cyra had done any 'wrong'. Calm, smiling, not seeing the problem.
...
Geez, my shaking/tremoring hands have been quite bad recently, one of the many reasons I've been submitting less.
The inking pen I was using also, apparently, bleeds.
You can... kind of see the effects, here? I don't know.
Edit: Added something, the lack of which started to irk me.
About Setra:
Setra was born in a rather... old-fashioned town. Not a great thing, given she was clearly a hybrid; freak, monster by any phiox (her mother's species) standards.
A few traits that really made her stick out like a sore thumb in her infancy:
-Unusual eye and hair colour.
-A somewhat slighter and more wiry physical structure than the average phiox.
-A freaking extra pair of arms.
The nature of her conception was rather... questionable in itself, and she was left behind at the hospital she was born at, her mother not leaving any name or identification, to attempt to avoid any chance of being traced back to her bastard offspring, and likely to try to forget the ordeal as a whole.
The...
Setra's physical differences aside from that only became more obvious as she aged, and the crude stumps left behind after the imprecise and low-tech removal of her arms as an infant marked her as just as much of a freak of nature as would have been evident otherwise.
Her pouch was also removed--a way the phiox show a female either cannot or should not have children, despite the pouch being an almost vestigial trait.
Setra was taken in by the town's chapel after said procedures, as the town lacked any sort of orphanage or other associated childcare facility, phiox being taken in by other members of their family if their parent[s] is/are unable to look after them in any normal situation.
She was well known for her decidedly odd behavior as a child, evident in schooling, how she conversed and just behaved in general. In the rest of the phiox' eyes, she lived up in every way to her reputation of being a freak. Without any conscious thought, the young girl was seen digging her strangely elongated claws into her arms and shoulders. Hidden by clothing were her much more bloodied stumps, as if she was trying to remove any sign of the aberrations that she knew garnered such attention and disgust from everyone around her.
Of course, all that could come from such behavior is her condition worsening, and it certainly did. Occasionally, she would be seen with blood staining her clothing and hair, with the source unclear. She became considered more and more of a monster, the escalating rumours and exaggerations in school as she reached her teen years making her something near a living folk tale.
The growth of a pair of horns upon puberty did her no favours, either.
Whether she was unraveling from the beginning, 'snapped', or she was simply destined for it due to her heritage as the townsfolk thought--Setra lived up to their expectations, brutally attacking one of the girls in her school after she made a comment (which wasn't much of a change from what she'd lived with for as long as she could remember), evidently unable to stop herself from responding any longer.
The girl who made said offensive comment suffered surprisingly deep and brutal lacerations, more evidence of Setra's monstrous features.
Her outburst resulted in expulsion from school, as well as losing her home in the chapel. Feeling no sense of attachment or sentiment to her hometown, she quietly left with the few piteous possessions she had, slipping away before any further judgments could be made of her fate on her behalf.
As a young teen, she spent quite a bit of time simply wandering through the vast, undeveloped land that highlighted for her just how remote her town was.
Though she stumbled upon a few scattered towns, they were all similar to the one she'd left behind, inhabited by phiox only--like most who were born in such places, she was taught to avoid any route that led to the border between countries, and 'dominant' species.
However, the further she went, the greater the level of technology was in these towns, as well as a startling array of different goods that she'd never seen or heard of before.
Though few and far between, she saw creatures of completely different species as well, though they obviously weren't permanent residents, peddlers who's presence in the phiox towns were clearly on uneasy terms.
Through talking to a few of these merchants, Setra was able to gain some form of understanding of how the world worked beyond her hometown, and the existence of cities that existed for beings who didn't agree with, or were ostracized due to, the rules of their places of birth.
Following (more or less stalking) the merchants she saw going from city to city, Setra eventually did make her way to one of these cities, and was able to take a form of refugee status.
Certainly, being a hybrid wasn't something unusual here, it seemed the vast majority of the residents of the city had seen leaving their homelands the only option.
However, Setra did still stand out. Her particular treatment in her infancy and childhood was apparently more severe than what most had dealt with--not that she'd had any way of knowing of this until now--and the physical, and psychological effects that were so readily evident did her no favours.
The blood that so frequently stained her clothing was also quite noticeable.
(And the rest will be continued at a later time! )
About her species:
Setra is a hybrid of emnon and phiox.
Alongside the traits mentioned nearer the top of this text, she also possesses an elongated muzzle and longer limbs characteristic of her father's species, the emnon. Her ear structure, skin colour, and thick tail are typical of the phiox.

can you make a pic of her if she didn't get her surgery that took of her arms?

Well, the image itself wasn't too bad, though I recall my hand tremors threw a wrench in finishing it, kind of annoying. xD
The information was a speed write while I had the information in mind.

Thank you, glad you do! Setra and Cyra's tails are pretty fun to work with, even though I botched the inking on this one a bit, hehe.
Hm... I wonder how Setra would react to having her tail grabbed...

The only thing I see wrong is the boldness of inking on it v//v
Maybe we should grab it and find out :'D

Thank you very much. I've had some issues with shaking hands since about last October or so... it's just been worsening over the last while.
I do hope it lets up soon, as well.

You should definitely give it a rest and ask your doc next time you get a check-up, though you've probably tried that.
One of my good friends has chronic arm pain, so I feel for you since I know anything of that nature can't be good.
And I sound like captain obvious, but yeah...

I have spoken with my doctor--though, now that I think about it, he did mention me coming back in if the tremors got worse. I had forgotten.
I know a few people who have chronic pain like that, too. It's certainly not something anyone should have to deal with....
Hey, I very much appreciate your comment and advice. That's really nice of you, and you reminded me of something important that had previously slipped my mind.
Thank you very much.
