Ragdoll...why does my scanner hate you so...? ;_;
Nothing new, I guess. Colours scanned so, so terribly (after spending all my money on replacement markers, an spending an ungodly amount of time on everything,) that I ended up farting around in Photoshop and spewed out... this. Even the files weren't cooperating, shit.
I don't know, man, I don't know... bah.
...And now that it's not like, 2 am, I'll apologize for being a bit of a derp in my original post.
Still not happy with what happened to this, but I'm less annoyed now that I have had a break between looking at it. Ahaha...
I am reminded of something I wanted to say... in this picture, take a look at Ragdoll's mouth. In particular, the corner.
This is one image in which her snarl is genuine.
Aside from that, you can see her updated, proper tail design here.

She has been blinded, the mask is actually protects what is left of her eyes.

She, over her time stranded in her world, has left countless connected lines of sinew that function almost like a spider's web. She uses the lines as paths and can feel vibration if anything else disturbs them.

I must admit Ragdoll is another one of your children that I do greatly adore. Why you may ask? She somewhat reminds me of me, when I was a bit younger and my family fell apart. But enough with odd connections to characters XD
I have noticed that her snarl is genuine, and she looks to have something up her sleeves, so to speak. Though, I am not familar with Ragdoll too well, I have come to love her as a character the few times I have seen her pop up in my message center. I may, when time allows, go and check out your lines for her. Though, if I may ask: what gave you the inspiration to create and name her Ragdoll? I'm sorry I'm just always curious how artists come up with names and designs for their children n_n

What I consider the very fist version of Ragdoll came into being around a similar point in my life, actually.
Ragdoll is very fun to work with... shes, uhm, one of my more "out there" characters mentally, but with reason for it. She's great to draw and write for. c:
Ragdoll isn't technically her true name in-story, rather a nickname that she'd had long before becoming physically damaged as she is currently. She's kept and used it as she is rather aware of it being quite fitting, in a manner she's fairly certain her proper name wouldn't anymore. (She can't quite remember, finding certain things to be constantly at that "on the tip of my tongue" state of memory. Spending god-knows-how-long alone and with severely impaired senses takes a toll on the mind.)
Beyond her in-story name origin, Ragdoll's first design carried that name as she came into being when I'd first gotten into making soft sculpture/plush animals, and rather liked how stitches looked when drawn. Her first design had her as something near a living doll; a mix of flesh and fabric.
...Actually, Cadence's appearance was based off a fair amount of the aspects of that design which I left off of Ragdoll's current one, though both their stories are quite different from that old one. c:

I like that, even though I'm sure that similar point in your life was painful or stressful. I like the fact that you were able to make something positive out of it. And also able to help create an outlet for you.
I have no doubt c: She, along with Syn, was one of the first characters that brought me to your corner of deviantART. She had such a design to her that really stood out in my mind. I basically loved her design from day one when I first say her.
Ah okay now that does make sense. See I love how you're able to take human qualities and fuse them with your monsters. Though, half of them I don't consider "monsters" more like beings that are misunderstood but their appearance leads people to just call them monsters without any second thoughts. I'm sorry I'm rambling again n_n; Ah I can relate to her with the "on the tip of my tongue" state of memory. I'm always seeming to do that, so I can understand how that would become a pain for her poor memory.
That is actually amazing! I've never known anyone to take one concept, such as your creating of sculpture/plush animals, and turning it into another. Though, I agree with you, stitches are fun to draw! Hmm, so in her years even her design has changed. The thought of her being a mix of flesh and fabric does make her story all the more sad in a way. It's almost as though, she's had to truly force herself to change in ways that most would never have to. She truly is a strong, powerful character even if her design makes her look fragile.
...I do believe that I've seen Cadence before. Is she the white girl with red? Correct me if I'm wrong on that n_n But now that you've mentioned that, and if I have the right appearance with the right character, I can see how the design aspects play along with one another. Nicely done. c:

Actually, it's funny you mention that! I remember being more bothered in the past to not have a decent word at my disposal for my characters aside from "beings", finding the term "monster" to have unwanted connotations. But, at the same time I figured that, yes, if my creations were to be encountered on the street or wherever it would be rather odd to see anything but a monster for most of them. XD
Is it? Well, I'm glad to hear it's an original sort of evolution. n_n And your thoughts about Ragdoll are rather dead-on. She's the one who had to stitch herself together, despite the loss of her vision, for an example. c:
And, you're right. Cadence is the pale character with the red. I've imagined her encountering Ragdoll a few times, actually. ...The scenarios always turn out rather odd. xux

Well I'm not exactly a normal person, most of the time I see something that most people would run in fear of and I want to take it home with me. XD As you've seen, well read, from the many comments about Ammut. I'd take him home in a heart beat if I saw him on the street. I'd just have to make sure he didn't try to eat our pets or my boyfriend XD
I would say so, yes. It is very original. n_n Most people who decide to do "evolutions" of characters aren't exactly evolutions at least not in my mind. An evolution to me, and as I've seen with your children, is where their lives have changed and they've had to adapt to it. All of your children, in some way or another, have had to do that. Really now? Ragdoll had to stitch herself together. Oh my! Now that is a very strong willed girl. I'll give her credit if I had to go through what she has, I doubt I'd have the will power.
Ah, I'm glad I got the name with the character credit! Hmm, I can see how the scenarios would always take a turn for a rather odd outcome. n_n But to a degree, I think they would get along somehow.
