How long can he stay on land?

a bit longer than a porpoise can, depending on weather - if it's a blazing hot day, he dries out and dehydrates easily, but if it's rainy and overcast he can stay out longer.
he also has arms so can maneuver terrain much easier than cetaceans, is small and light enough that his weight doesn't press on his lungs very hard (the main reason beached dolphins and whales die - their organs are not built to support their own massive weight since they're aquatic and the water normally does that for them), and has more in common with his land-based ancestors than cetaceans do with theirs, so I would sayyy a few hours, depending on certain factors (could certainly survive for way longer, but it just gets uncomfortable after a certain amount of time). still returns to the water often for breaks when hanging out with his bf, or they'll sometimes just both hang out in the water instead :>
