Description
Her gentle sobs filled the hallways, echoing softly in the dark. Luna crept quietly to her little one's bedroom, her heart filled with worry."Evee, darling, what's wrong?", she asked quietly, approaching her daughter, who was sitting on the carpet, absolutely grief-stricken. Her small frame racked with teary hiccups, her sniffles sporadic and her breathing harsh. Evening Star, with a face trickling with tears, turned to her mother briefly, but immediately shrunk away from her reach.
"Don't come near me, mother- I'm a monster!", cried Evee, letting out a mournful cry of despair, covering her tiny hooves over her face. While the young filly cowered in sadness, Luna smiled fondly. Here she had thought Evee was in some sort of actual trouble. Luna approached her daughter, nuzzling her head, and most notably, the pair of bat wings on her back.
"You're not a monster, Evee," chuckled Luna, happy to see Evening lean into her touch. "I thought you were alright with your transformations by now." Luna pet her daughter's mane as Evening sniffled and calmed down. Immediately, however, Evee's brow furrowed.
"No, I'm not alright! I hate turning into... this every month!", Evee cried, gesturing dramatically to her wings, which used to be feathered instead of leathery. She once again turned away from her mother, scooting away from her touch, her fuzzy ears pricking back. Luna sighed tenderly, used to Evening's... fits of passion.
"Now, Evening Star, we've gone over this. No one thinks you're a monster, and no, it is not unbecoming of a princess to have a more... nocturnal appearance."
Evening Star still kept her back to Luna, her sniffling quietly breaking the silence. Luna bit her lip, waiting for some sort of response.
Suddenly, she had an idea.
A brilliant light engulfed the room, and Evening Star spun around, her hoof shielding her eyes. Once the light had subsided, she gasped, her eyes wide and her jaw dropped in awe.
Luna stood before her daughter, a familiar pair of leathery wings and fuzzy ears, along with a toothy grin replacing her usual features. Luna gazed down at her daughter, having been transformed into a batpony herself.
"Now, just to show you that no one thinks you look like a monster, we'll both look the same while the moon wanes and you're back to normal." Luna smiled, reaching out to her daughter, who was already bubbling with fresh tears, this time of happiness. She scooped Evening Star up into her arms, wrapping her new wings over her daughter- just like her own pair of bat wings.
Together, as 'monsters', Luna and little Evee spent the whole night awake, flying around Canterlot and singing lullabies together for a whole month until Evening Star was transformed back to her usual self again... until the next full moon.

It certainly feels great to be firing at all cylinders once again!
It's been a while since I featured Evening Star! The Luna clan all seem to have some sort of secret- and Evee is no different. As the daughter of a batpony herself, Evening transforms every month without explanation when the moon is full. Since childhood she's hated these transformations, feeling like a 'monster' and not like her usual pretty-pony-princess self. She has always been very conscience of her appearance, and since the majority of Equestria doesn't have fangs, bat wings, and fuzzy ears, she feels extremely uncomfortable to be seen in her more nocturnal form. As she grows older, Evening Star begins to accept her "monthly curse" (not the curse you're thinking about, ladies, although that one sucks too), but is still self-conscience of her image, and thus takes a leave of absence for a few days every month from the public. Luna would turn into a batpony along with her until she got a little older, and she finally felt alright with herself. That didn't stop her from crying dramatically for a few years every month, though, hehe. Every now and then you'd hear a cry of something along the lines of "I'm hideous!" and "Look away!" in the hallways, and Luna would only sip her tea wherever she was in the castle, shaking her head fondly at her daughter's theatrics.
I've seriously been lacking in Evee's character development, sheesh! I adore Evee- she's so fun to work with, I had almost forgotten! Hopefully we'll see more from her soon. Until then, enjoy everyone!
Evening Star and art belong to me.
Luna belongs to MLP:FiM

Oh, no sorry, I was implying that her monthly transformation is her curse- and even then it's not an actual curse, it's just... genetics, I guess. Magic is weird, hehe.
