Description
This is basically my entry for Cherrykat's competition. i've decided to use her character 'Vixenia the Bat' fot his one. So that you know, Vixenia is a memeber of a Spy organisation, so i thought i'd draw a picture of her on a mission sneaking into an enemy facility. then i thought... what could i do to make it better? then i got it! i added my character 'Eclipse the Bat' in there as her mission partner, and as demonstrated, he is not good at stealth missions. he screwed up...BIGTIME! Vixenia's expression is set at SHOCKED DO A DEGREE OF OVERWHELMING PANIC! she'll probably kill Eclipse later I TOLD YOU GUYS ECLIPSE IS CLUMSY! When i first drew Eclipse on Paper, i didn't think very much of it. i LOVED the way i drew Vixenia, she turned out great, but i didn't think too highly of Eclipse. once i got him into the computer and coloured him all cool and stuff, i discovered that maybe he just looks better coloured, because i am quite happy with his end result ^^. The background here is made entirely by me. it's not used anywhere, and to prove it, i have an image of Eclipse on the monitor (if u can see him). i tried a new colouring style here, using more gradient type colouring methods, after i experimented with them in my other picture 'Dark Guardian Eclipse'. i absoloutely LOVE the way this turned out. The characters look better than i expected, and i even amazed myself with the background, it looks more 3-dimensional than i could have possibly hoped for! lemme know what u think ppls!

Here's how it was made:

1. Vixenia and Eclipse sketched on paper.
2. Vixenia and Eclipse inked.
3. images scanned into compy.
4. Images cleaned up and coloured all white with their preserved lines (in Photoshop).
5. A background is made by drawing shapes in Photoshop and then using blending options on their layers to add 3-dimensional effects, as well as some gradients used.
6. White characters are placed into background to get an idea of positioning and to see if there was anything i wanted to change on the background, thus far.
6. Baclground detailed, and perfected.
7. Eclipse is copied into another document, coloured and then copied back into the original picture, being placed EXACTLY where the black and white version of him is, then the black and white version is deleted.
8. Same as above but this time for Vixenia.
9. Laser effect is added, and perfected.
10. 'Sirens' light is positioned, then i add text.
11. FINISHED! -dances with joy!-

At first i thought i would run out of time to make this, but i worked on it from 10:45AM saturday morning (today) till 4:00PM. i just couldn't stop once i started, i just kept going until it was perfect. i REALLY enjoyed making it.

apart from the fact that now i have neglected homework to catch up one *groan* i think this was all worthwhile. very very happy with teh results! wish me luck for da competition!
