Upon multiple request, here the "tutorial" for how to braid Fang's armband.I know it sucks because it was kind of rushed, but if it helps at least someone, then I'm happy.

I'm being Fang for a con in July, so this helps a lot! I'm bit late to the party though ^^" But I will definitely use this. Oh, and I also saw that you created the necklaces (which were amazing), and I was wondering what you used to sculpt the middle piece. I'm thinking of using modeling clay, but this will be the first time I've made something for my cosplay.

For "closing it" we were thinking about making it overlap a little & perhaps using Velcro or snaps? Thats the next issue to tackle ^__~ But again, thanks for the quick tutorial!

I am glad I could help! For closing I too was thinking of snaps. Sealing the ends by glueing them, and then using a few small snaps. I hope I get to see photos of you two! I'm such a sucker for FF cosplay

approximately how long were the strips before you braided them?

Way too long, I had to cut them down when I was finished braiding.. They were about 25 inches long each

It is not (yet). I don't know yet how I will do it but I am thinking about trying to put it together to make it look like one continuous piece and glue it or so.

Here, on the Hobby Lobby's homepage. I had the SADDLE TAN (which is the orangey one in my photos, in reality it looks like on the Hobby Lobby's site though), chocolate (which is all wrong and should be the yellowish one) and black. [link]
I'd recommend to get White instead of Chocolate because that will be easier to paint yellowish.

At Hobby Lobby! They are like 3 bucks each I think. They are kind of rolled up, hanging. You need only 1 of each color because the deerskin ribbon/strips are like 10 feet each or so. Just cut them in thirds and you'll have enough!
