Description
To celebrate hitting 5,000 Watchers, I wanted to do something more in depth. Thank you everyone!! 5k's a big milestone to hit ;-;Part 2:
Previously had a tips and tricks tutorial: But this tutorial's more in depth. Hopefully you find both useful!
On not using a white bg: Istebrak has a lovely video on this! www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3ZNkC… I'd also like to do my own maybe shorter video tutorial soon (the next few days, maybe?) on why working on a more neutral gray bg has it's benefits.
On Reflected/Bounce Light: Sycra has a great video (as well as series!) on this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkaM5B…
On Overlay:
Main colouring brush I like to use: koneri.org/downloadabc/acrylic… Clip studio/Manga studio 5 only, sorry! Though it's not anything you really need ;a;
Art tutorial folder: ekkoberry.deviantart.com/galle…

Wow, that's a really nice tutorial! Nicely written, easy to follow and doesn't skip things like many others. I'm honestly impressed

Great tutorial. One thing, how do you go about adding values and colours to the inverted selection without getting much outside of the lines? Is it covered by the texture on top of it? Or is there a way of only painting within the lineart without worrying about covering the background?
Thanks a lot.

I use a clipping layer! in clip studio, it's this button here: gyazo.com/38ed035c7e9e46696aa4… it makes it so you can only draw on what's visible from the layer below.
I know other programs can also do this too , but I'm not sure of the exact location ;0;;

Thanks a lot! That makes sense, and it explains why you filled it earlier. Much appreciated.

where do you get the textures? for example, the paper texture you used in the background?
