OK, it's a quick lesson on how to draw a kimono. Just a glance, for total beginners.There are several types of kimono. This one is most common. Married women have short sleeve. Unmarried and girls - long.

Is the kimono wrapped to the right only for women? I thought men wrapped it the other way? Thanks for the great resource!

That's interesting. I could've sworn I was told by a Japanese woman that it was different for men and women. Do you know if it might be for other cultures that wear kimonos?

kimono is a japanese clothing. it literally means "clothes"

Simply educational. You did great job!! O_O Some say its so easy to draw kimono, but I'm sure that there's some things that we should take note, especially #1. It sounds plain, but its important. Crucial. XD

yeah, the number one is most important
Actually it's difficult to draw kimono because of the sleeves. They tend to shape in most unpredictable ways

i had always noticed that the kimono were wrapped to the right- like a 'y', but i never knew the dead are wrapped on left!

Кимоно длинное, чтобы укоротить его, делают горизонтальную складку. Таким образм можно подогнать кимоно под свой рост.

не совсем, кимоно изначально очень длинное. оно же передаётся в семье из поколения в поколение, а все разного роста. я не спец, возможно это пришло со временем, в эпоху Хэйян, вроде, кимоно с подолом по полу.
