Wish I would've found this before I started making pixel sprite sheets of my OC.Β

I did this with one of the motions (standing still) and the difference is amazing...

Sorry if it's just me but when I use the binary tool it looks way thicker than yours ;;;
When I look at everyone's pixels actually, it kinda looks like their lines are thinner and cleaner than mine's = A = ;;;Β
Is it just me??

The size should be x1.0

Um, question, so I did up until step 3 following the directions perfectly. The settings, the folders, everything. I was ready to bucket the base colors but it only fills it in if I do it on the same layer as my lineart. What do I do?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ERDJIE In reply to EllieBracha [2015-07-07 06:21:47 +0000 UTC]

You should put your line-layer above from the base color group. Make sure your bucket setting is like this:

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it, god, I'm such an idiot sometimes. D: I forgot to put the flat color-group in the Pixel-folder.

hey so I've been checking out your pixel art on here because I really want to start trying to do pixel art. But I have a lot of questions and so far your tutorial is the only one thats been any help. My main question is if you have a set image area like a picture has to be like 15x19 can you make pixel art like that? could you possibly like make the size of the picture bigger but keep all the pixel goodness to it? So I guess what I'm asking is can take a 1x1 drawing and make it bigger and keep it looking pixely?Β
is there something I am missing?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

ERDJIE In reply to madbunny1020 [2015-07-03 06:46:50 +0000 UTC]

by saying 1x1, you mean pixel points or inches?Β

You can set your pixel in a larger size, but in equal ratio of length and width (e.g. original size is 100x200 I can adjust it to 200x400),

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

madbunny1020 In reply to madbunny1020 [2015-07-03 06:29:58 +0000 UTC]

like with out it becoming blurry and horrible looking,.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ERDJIE In reply to madbunny1020 [2015-07-03 06:52:14 +0000 UTC]

You can only adjust its size in photoshop, one rule is you have to set it to the "Nearest Neighbor".

Another thing, you can only increase it size, it's impossible to make it a smaller one.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

madbunny1020 In reply to ERDJIE [2015-07-03 07:01:58 +0000 UTC]

ok that sorta makes sense. So lets say you take the 1x1 drawing like in your tutorial after you have drawn it and lined it and all that Can you take it to photoshop and increase its size and keep it looking the same with out it getting blurry like it does in sai?
Also sorry im very new to this, but what tool do you use for the sketch to start with?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ERDJIE In reply to madbunny1020 [2015-07-03 16:53:51 +0000 UTC]

Yupp, Sai is just for painting limited with optimization setting.Β
I use any brush for sketching. :>>

necrocamo In reply to ZEPEII [2015-02-18 06:17:38 +0000 UTC]

ItΒ΄s the same thing.
Duplicate it, set one with full opacity for binary pen, and the other with zero opacity for the binary eraser.
Also, bucket set to "color difference" 0, and no anti-aliasing for binary bucket.

Alphaawsm [2015-02-12 21:06:05 +0000 UTC]

Weird question, how exactly do you raise the 'quality'/resolution of the picture? Not the actually look of the picture but the graphics -
ie.Β alphaawsm.deviantart.com/art/P… - It looks a bit weird, as if it's quality turned to 240p...
Help pls?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ERDJIE In reply to Alphaawsm [2015-02-14 06:51:02 +0000 UTC]

Did you save it as .gif in photoshop? If not, then you should do it since the gif format only
counts for pixel amount (max. is 255 colors in a palette) instead of optimizing resolution (PNG, BMP, JPG. etc.)
