This is a kiriban for ~delia11 - sorry to keep you waiting hun, I hope you like it! She wanted something quite cheery and innocent yet still mysterious and dark - I hope I captured that. Overall, I'm very happy with this one.
The title is Italian for 'beautiful night', and I don't know why but it just seemed to sound perfect for this piece.

This literally made me want to laugh and smile and cry (with happiness) all at the same time. I love the feeling that you get from the pony as well as the soft, joyful feeling that you get from all of the pretty light surrounding the pony. Over all, it knocked me dead

Gimp is fairly similar to Photoshop with the tools and all, so yes, you could definitely make something like this in Gimp.
