First I thought Sonic is sad or shocked because Shadow's mind is under control again. But now I think he could be traumatized because he has a flashback of how he and his friends died.
Damn, so many traumas. Lets start this battle, set Shadow free ( again) and defeat the enemies so we dont have to go through this nightmare once again.

Where'd those Chaos Emeralds Shadow was holding go? I doubt they'd interfere with the device on him, but they did kinda just disappear.
The coolest thing about that device is the symbol. If it was a tad thicker it would look more like a cat's eye. Nicole could totally get away with being Evil Mistress with the All-Seeing Eye of Doom.
In other news, once Sonic snaps out of it I can see him saying "Shadow, don't make me possess you again!"

It's not a hallucination-- that's not Vennie, that's her mom Ginger. And we saw Metal, Shadow, and Scourge show up at the end of Issue 12. And we just got an explanation of Shadow's headgear in the flashback in the last five pages, and also saw it in Issue 1?

But still, I was hoping this would NOT gonna happen. So he's under Nicol's mind control again. In issue 1 Shadow breaks free, so I guess this must be the nanites ( dont know how to write this) from issue 9. In addition this mind control devise looks differdent than the other one. So he has been in a kind of stand-by modus the whole time. Damn, I wasnt expecting THIS but now it's so obvious. You can see there that it's 3 vs 3. If I learned somthing, it is: Always listen to your feelings/ inner voice
